Rogue Belador should not be read as a standalone since prior events in the other novels help the readers understand more about all the characters and storyline.

In this particular book, it takes on several viewpoints. Namely, Evalle, Tzader as well as Queen Maeve and Cathbad. I particular liked the storyline for Tzader and Brina and how everything worked out. Evalle finally had the gumption to get what she wanted for her and the gryphons. A particular surprise for me was the twist at the end with the Dragon King of Treoir.

Overall, it was a very interesting read and I am liking the direction it is taking. I am looking forward to the next book entitled Dragon King of Treoir.
