This is an Awesome book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (If anyone thinks I overuse the word Awesome, you're probably right, but it's just such an Awesome word.) Pearl is one of the coolest vampires i've come across, but in a different way from other vampire stories/heroines like Rose (Vampire Academy) or Dru (Strange Angels). Possibly because at the start, she's a full vampire, pretty much heartless and soulless. but, throughout the book, we see her growing conscience and humanity and its an interesting journey. I just read the book yesterday, and i'm not sure if even I can determine the exact point where she started about the humans around her and in her life. (of course, everyone else probably thinks its when she screamed "Vampires!!!" in the cafeteria, cuz that's the obvious I-don't-want-all-these-humans-to-die moment, but i think it happened before that) plus, I LOVE THE FREAKING WERE-UNICORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not gonna lie. For some reason I just couldn't get into this book, even when I was half-way through I just wasn't feeling it. And for someone who was anticipating this book this is kinda frustrating. I hope someday I think differently & I can finish it, but right now I just couldn't. That said, I did not think this book was bad. As someone who had previously read a book by Sarah Beth Durst, I was familiarized with her awesome writing. I think my main problem was the characters. I just could not sympathize with the characters and I felt the conversations were a bit shallow. Nevertheless, I look forward to any of Sarah's future writing.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with this book. It was a some-what fresh, funny take on vampires. One of the things that makes it great, is that it's quite tongue-in-cheek. Overall, it's just quite funny, and definitely keeps the attention of the readers. Great read for anyone who like YA comedy.

Some things in this book were a little too cheesy and some plot resolutions a little too convenient, but a really fun read overall.
