Whatever it is, I'm biased towards a Star Wars story and to Ahsoka, and I loved getting that bridge between Order 66 and Rebels.

I've been meaning to listen to the audio book of this forever, and I'm so glad I did now. I am eager to see if this will tie in to the Ahsoka live-action show at all, but I truly loved this book even as it is. It felt like watching an arc on Clone Wars!

There were a few plot holes now that season 7 of Clone Wars is released, but it's still amazing. Ahsoka at her finest, E.K. Johnston really managed to capture the Ahsoka energy in this!

This was the perfect story for such a beloved character in Star Wars. I grew up with Ahsoka and she changed me in so many ways throughout my time watching The Clone Wars. 
This book does her one more amazing bit of justice; the characterization, the storyline, the writing itself… every bit of it is such a wonderful and emotional read. It’s clear that E.K. Johnston took the time to get to know Ahsoka on a deep and more personal level before diving into this project. We need more Ahsoka content like this.

The story follows Ahsoka after Order 66 as she tries to find her place in the Empire's new universe. Fills in some gaps in lore and is ultimately a fun story.

Ahsoka is definitely meant for those who are Star Wars fans and want more of the behind the scenes story. This book follows Ashoka Tano in the aftermath of Order 66, ending the lives of thousands of Jedis and Younglings. Ahsoka hides her roots in the Force and uses her other abilities to help a smuggling operation and then a farming community where she inadvertently puts the residents in danger. She vows to come back and help the friends she has made but also knows that if she doesn't escape, she can't help anyone. She must come to terms with what it means to be trained as a Jedi and what her future may hold. 

This book starts very slowly as Ahsoka's relationships in the farming community on the moon called Raada are established, but heats up quite a bit when an Imperial presence assumes control. To understand everything in this story, readers need to have seen all of the six original Star Wars movies as well as the Clone Wars television series leading right up to the current Rebels series. Fans of these shows and movies will love this story as it connects and explains so much.

Okay, as a big Star Wars fan, particularly of The Clone Wars show, I knew I had to get this novel. I didn't hear anything about it, just saw it at Target and bought it. I'd heard Pablo Hidalgo and Dave Faloni talk about this novel coming back during Celebration their panel right after the show was cancelled (via youtube, I'm broke, y'all) and had been keeping my ear to the ground and peeled about it. I knew it was coming and that was all.

OMG YOU NEED TO READ THIS IF YOU LIKE STAR WARS.

First of all we have a CANON lesbian/bi/pan character in Kaeden who admits her feelings to Ahsoka mid-battle. THIS IS AWESOME!!! :) Further proof that Finn&Poe may be more than just fan imaginations.

Second: this isn't a Rebels book. At least, not at first. This takes place 1 year after Order 66, with a mourning Ahsoka still trying to figure out what to do next. While this is how she gets into the rebellion it's more about her finding her place and getting her lightsabers and figuring out where she fits in the galaxy as a not-Jedi.

I love this book. The pacing is solid, the writing is well down and doesn't talk down to the reader like the new children Star Wars books have been doing. Plus with most of the humans involved being POC the diversity is getting better and better. Well done!!! 5 out of 5 indeed!
