The Raven

The Raven is a poem by Edgar Allen Poe that tells of a talking raven's mysterious visit to a distraught lover, tracing the man's slow fall into madness. The horror of madness is a common theme that Poe uses in his Gothic tales. Poe makes use of internal rhyme as well as alliteration throughout this classic verse. Recommended by The Gunston Trust.
