The Savage & the Swan
Reviews

Simple story, predictable. Decent overall a good enough read

Enemies to lovers, fantasy elements, could’ve been flushed out better, but nice nonetheless

GAHHH!!! Serious book hangover right now. I cannot form a coherent though. I was invested from the moment I read the first words. All the feels you could possibly go through in one story. I am rendered speechless and will be processing this story for days. You cannot escape your fate, it doesn’t care if you are sworn enemies or best friends, when it comes you must listen. This story was all about fate and how no matter how hard you try you will surrender to it. “When feather meets fire, vengeance will expire” Ella Fields pulls out all the stops with a fantasy romance that just keeps on giving. You have your faerie princess, a savage wolf kind and their fate written in the stars that no one could change. Can these two change the course of time and end a war they did not create? Opal and Dade meet by happenstance when she flees the castle after learning of the plans her parents have for her. Although she had no idea of his identity, he knows exactly who she is and has his own plans for her. As they navigate their hearts and feelings, bloody battles will continue at the cost of their people. Can the bond they are wielding change the plans that have been laid or will vengeance win out after all? The chemistry between Opal and Dade makes this story so spectacular, a slow burning romance, that undoubtedly shows you that when fate intervenes you have no choice but to listen. He her savage and she his beautiful swan.

My gosh, what a marvelous romantasy!!!! If you like Swan Princess, Hades and Persephone, with vibes from ACOTAR and FBAA, this is THE book for you! Review to come!

If a man came up to me in a forest and called me sunshine, I’d marry him too. Besides that point I loved this book, one of my new favorites. 11/10, love Opal and Dade.

At first I didn't like this book because I felt like it was way too many fairy tales combined but about halfway through it all made sense. I still have a few unanswered questions but overall I really enjoyed this once the story started to come together. A great enemies to lovers romance.

3.5 Stars

This book is the reason I LOATHE stand-alone books. I loved this book and became VERY attached to the characters. The ending had me so upset just because it was over. I read this with my book club and every one of us finished it within 3 days because we couldn't put it down. 100/10

Honestly I got 65% in then skipped to the end. Still counting as read tho

4.5 stars ✨ GUYS. Ella fields knows how to write fantasy, I mean MY GOD! Her stories, her characters, the world building, I can’t get enough of it. Dade… you have my heart. COMPLETELY. and Opal? I love you and you’re strong willpower to do what’s right. The only thing I wanted more of was those early scenes when they meet for the first time. But still. SO GOOD! Love it!

My gosh, what a marvelous romantasy!!!! If you like Swan Princess, Hades and Persephone, with vibes from ACOTAR and FBAA, this is THE book for you! Review to come!

Pre-teen me would have given this 5 stars for the shape shifting alone. I both enjoyed and got annoyed at this book. Some of the reviews were talking about some of the fairy tale references. Well PSA they're introduced and seem like critical plot points and then literally are forgotten for the entire rest of the book. It was a lovely formulaic mindless read with fantasy and a light seasoning of spice though.
