Liked it less than flawless but still fun

Here we go again with a nother series that I want to try and get completed before the end of the year and it’s another romance series. After enjoying the 1st book in the series, I was hoping that book 2 was going to be just as good and I was not disappointed at all. This was a good easy read to get lost in at the end of November / Start of December.
Welcome to the second book in the Chestnut Springs series and in this one we meet Cade; a rancher who will be busy for the summer and needs a nanny for his son Luke. He has turned down all the applicants as he didn't like them and is now desperate. Summer suggests her friend Willa to look after Luke for the summer. Following a meet cute between Willa and Cade in a local coffee shop and seeing Willa interact with Luke, Cade is keen to give her a chance.
This was a cute, funny, small town, cowboy romance book. It’s clear that Willa and Luke hit it off and then cade must warm to her as well & It’s clear that Willa has a thing for Cade. I love the plot of this one and the pacing was just perfect along with the perfect character development. I love how Willa is fierce, witty and loyal, but she also has a soft and caring side to her.
Cade and Willa's character development was excellent they grew so much and showed both sides of themselves. I really liked the side characters, especially Luke (he's adorable and so sweet), Jasper, Summer and Cade's dad. I loved Cade and Willa's witty banter. The chemistry and tension between both characters was amazing! I loved that their relationship developed over time, and they grew to love each other as they learned more about each other.

First time readying a single dad trope and I’m so here for it

they got me again with the single dad x nanny trope 😮💨 i want a man to describe me how cade does willa

If you love grumpy×sunshine trope with a sprinkle of age gap and single dad trope, this book is for you. I love Willa and Cade, and Luke is such a sweetheart. I just hope Willa's character is explored more since there are quite a few holes about her character that I need an explanation on. But overall, it's a good read!

this is a soft 4 stars. this guy is a lot better than the other one in my opinion. a guy who barely talks and whose love language is acts of service? much more my speed.

Giddy up baby! This is the surprise pregnancy cowboy romance of your dreams. I’m talking grumpy X sunshine but really it’s angst x red head. I already know this is a series I will think about forever.

SAVE A HORSE RIDE A COWBOY!

i thought i hated age-gap romances but guess who's eating her words.

4.5 if every book with a pregnancy trope is gonna be this good i might change my mind about it because this was GOOD also i love cute kids in books

Raunchy, funny, sexy, everything you want from a cowboy x city girl love story. Also, no third act breakup which is a refreshing twist

it did take me a bit to get through this but CADE FUCKING EATON!!! YOU HAVE ME AND MY SOUL. this book introduced me to single dads and oh my god. it was so done well….. GIVE ME MORE👹👹👹

4 STARS “Good. Because I’m sick of holding back with you. You’re not going anywhere. You belong here, with me." Amazing read!! I didn’t know I need a single dad cowboy in my life, but yeah I do. The second book from the series and I’m already obsessed with this series. I adore side characters and I’m so happy that they will get their own books. I can’t wait for the third book about Jasper and Sloane. I haven’t seen it anywhere, but I really hope that Winter will get her own book, maybe she will be paired with Beau ( I can only hope). You will definitely have a bi panic while reading this book, because Cade and Willa are literally perfect. Like seriously, please give me both of them. Cade can step on me, and I'll probably be grateful for that, because if someone said that to me I would probably fall on my knees immediately. ( I know it’s a bare minimum, but find a man like that nowadays) "You’re going to spend as much time as you want at our house,” he says[…]. “You’re going to work whatever job you want. Wherever you want. But you’ll always have a place here. A home here. I’ll make you coffee every morning. I’ll leave you all the Post-it notes you want. I’ll cook your dinner every day. I’ll eat your 🐱 in the hot tub before bed every damn night.” At one point in the book, I almost got a little bored, so it’s not a 5 star rating from me.

save a horse, ride a cade

This author is downright hilarious

3.5 - kinda dragged on for me towards the middle

“crazier” by taylor swift
“light me up” and “storm warning” by hunter hayes
“my person” by spencer crandall
willacade got me hooked from the very start!! ugh i loved this cute little family so much

** spoiler alert ** Rating: 5+ ⭐️/5 Spice: 3/5 (THE FRONT PORCH SCENE PLS) ✔️ small town romance ✔️ grumpy MMC - sunshine FMC ✔️ single sexy daddy - gorgeous nanny ✔️ age gap (Daddy Cade 38 - Willa 25) ✔️ hilarious banter From start to finish, you’ll get hooked not only with Cade and Willa’s explosive chemistry but also with Willa and Luke’s, Cade’s 5 year old son, relationship. Just like what Cade has mentioned, the three of them fits perfectly in a mold. You might think everything went smoothly from the beginning, well, you’re wrong! When the need to find a nanny for Luke arose, it took Summer and Grandpa Harvey forever to find the perfect one! Cade rejected all the applicants up until Summer recommended her best friend who was visiting Chestnut Springs during the summer! #PerfectTimingRight In this book, you can expect cat-dog banters between Cade and Willa! Cade may scowl all he want, but that got nothing on our feisty female lead! Willa is as headstrong as one can imagine! Her nannying skills may be unconventional based on her background, but it’s just about time when Cade acknowledges how Willa might just be what he and Luke needed! I can’t believe I finished this book in one sitting (around 5 hours)! It’s just SOOOOO good! I laughed and cried over all the characters! I just love it when the family teases the shit out of Cade Hehehehe! PS I am so honored to receive an ARC of this novel. It’s my first time so I’m more than happy that I’m doing it for Elsie! I truly enjoyed Flawless, so it was a no brainer to join her ARC/Street Team! XO, RICA IG @ricsisreading

Kicking my feet and giggling 80% of this book

Elsie Silver is a magician

Loooooved it just as much as the first one! I love every character (still) and how everything plays together so well. I love the baby at the end, I do enjoy accidental pregnancy. I wish we got a scene of Luke actually calling Willa mom but I was expecting him to ask! I loved it all

single dad trope AND pregnancy trope is just too much in my opinion - pick one, preferably not the pregnancy trope

I absolutely loved this book, the tropes were perfect and I really love the small town aspect. This book was hilarious and heartwarming and little Luke made the book even better.

literally laughed so hard throughout this entire book
Highlights

"The way I see it, I like you a little more every day"
Cute

“Willa might be a bit of a psycho- after all, she did just push a child into the pool- but the more time I spend with her, the more I feel like she’s my psycho.”
I can’t believe she did that 😂😅

“Life lesson. Careful who you pick a fight with. Someone insane might love them.”

“Okay, Darth Cade.”
“No! I want dad to be Jar Jar Binks!”
“What the hell is a Jar Jar Binks?”
I think my humour is broken 😂😭

“I can’t believe you didn’t tell Cade I’m a bartender and not some professional Mary Poppins.”
HAHAHA

"You need to leave! Now!" The mom points toward the gate, and her arm shakes with fury.
I'm almost to them, but the sight of Willa knocking a kid into the pool stopped me in my tracks.
She really is insane.
Possibly in the best way.
"Gladly." She stands, brushing her hands. "Contact a professional if he starts killing bunnies or something."
Omg I LOVE her😂😂

Willa crouches at the pool's edge, smirking at the boy, who is already standing in the shallow water, angrily wiping his eyes. "Life lesson, shithead. Careful who you pick a fight with. Someone insane might love them."

"It was a joke! You're out of line, and you will not speak another word to him."
Luke's tear-stained face tells me he wasn't in on the joke.
Willa rises slowly, almost predatory in her movements, as she turns and arches a brow at the woman. "Oh, no?"
"Not another word."
"Fine." Willa smiles but it's a scary smile. And then, with one well-placed hip check, the birthday boy goes flying into the water.

"Beg."
"Pardon me?"
"You heard me." Her lips don't even twitch. She's not joking at all. "Beg."
I love her haha she knows her worth😂

“Thank you for being the first person my life to put me first, to give me options.”
