Elsie Silver2023
Working as a nanny for the world's grumpiest single dad should have been simple. Except I can't keep my eyes off him. And he can't keep his hands off of me. Cade Easton is thirteen years older than me and barely looks my way. Until I get him in the hot tub one night for a game of truth or dare. Then all bets are off - and so are our clothes. He's gruff, a little rough around the edges, and it turns out broad-shouldered ranchers with filthy mouths are this city girl's kryptonite. So who am I to resist? But in our quiet moments together, he softens, and I start to realise his hardened exterior is just a façade. Someone once convinced him that his best wasn't good enough. Yet I've never felt more cherished than I do in his arms. My contract may say this arrangement is only for two months . But my heart says this is forever.

I loved this book so much I forgot I was reading. Nanny x single dad trope was so cute and there wasn’t any brake up.

I loved the whole grumpy x sunshine trope in this book and the tension,it was so good. However, I feel that the ending of the story could have been executed better just like Willa's choice to settle. Luke is just an absolute sweetheart.

I would definitely read this book again! I just love how they heal each other! Elsie silver is really becoming one of my favourite authors. I’m obsessed with series that have to do with family (might be because I’m such a family person). The way Willa breaks down Cade’s walls and takes Luke as hers is just so pure and wholesome 🥹

Love love love omg I love Willa and I loooove Cade bro. And together they are perfect. Willa getting preggas was probably the best thing to happen I swearrrr. This probaby wasn't one of my favourites again, but it was so enjoyable and I loved it and I liked all the characters and I love luke so so much he's such an adorable kid. I love the dialogue of this book, I love the plot of this book, but the age gaps a little bit icky for me, I'll just pretend they are similar ages. Still, it was such kind of emotional to read to be honest, but I wanted more from Willa, there's rarely any background about her, no development no nothing, and it's a little bit foggy around Cade and his ex-wife, there's nothing really up with him about that, he seems a bit lukewarm about it and I just think it'd be better if it was veyr emotional.

Very similar to the first book, it’s a great way to escape reality and dive into a romantic cowboy story

Cade & Willa are so easy to love and the storyline is the same- for an easy read this is the perfect series. I also like that the two stories despite being based on the same characters it has different tropes to it

Will definitely be reading the rest of the series

I was absolutely adamant about not reading this book because it's got a big age-gap and I HATE age-gap in books, but boy am I glad I read it! It was absolutely wonderful throughout -- I genuinely enjoyed it from the very start.

Cade and Willa's relationship was so well-written. I loved the way they communicated and the way Cade showed Willa he cared, even when he couldn't say it out loud. The notes he'd leave her!! An acts of service man for sure. Willa was also a really cool character and I loved getting to know her better and see her develop throughout as she figured out what she wanted.

One thing I adore about Elsie Silvers' writing is the dual perspective. I am a sucker for seeing everything from both POVs and this was the same case as ever. Seeing Cade fall in love with Willa, and the way she was with Luke, was the sweetest thing ever.

Speaking of Luke. I absolutely adored that kid. I usually don't love kids in books but he was so fun and sweet and endearing that you can't help fall in love with him. Elsie Silvers just casually wrote the cutest kid I've ever read. Reading about the way Cade sees his son, and the way Luke sees his dad, was so heartwarming. But nothing beat seeing Luke and Willa's relationship go from her just being the nanny to him asking if he can call her his mum! I could've cried reading that bit. Luke was by far my favourite character and he just added so much warmth to the story.

Another excellent Elsie Silvers read and I'm so so glad I bit the bullet on the age-gap trope and read this anyways. I still don't like age-gap and probably won't read another one, but I just loved this story. The whole Chestnut Springs universe is just insane and I wish wish wish I could go there.

I took way too long to read so the attachment was lost. Did not love the third act pregnancy trope but it some ways it fit into the story well, always better than a third act breakup. Love love love Luke hello baby fever much. Would've loved the book more if random rodeo horse content that was not very well explained was excluded. Loved the romance, made me giggle and swoon and blush. Cant wait to read the rest of the series.

The sound of our coins plunking into the water below mingles with the sound of wind chimes on the back porch.

Eyes shut, I wish for Willa.

A life with her.

A family with her.

Gray hair and more laughter with her.

“Because you’ve never been just the nanny, Willa.” My chest lurches as I look back at him, feeling suspended in time. “You’ve always been more. The woman I wanted but wouldn’t let myself have."

She was just so excited over me laughing. Over me smiling. She smiled back. It felt good. And now she’s in here giving that megawatt grin to other people, who are grinning back at her. And I feel like I want all her smiles for myself.
