The Golden Door

I did not expect the darker nature of this book after just reading the Rondo series. Although not "dark" in comparison to many other works, this book does not have the same laughable absurdity that the Rondo series has. 
Yet, Rodda drew me in all the same and kept me absolutely captivated. 
Her careful world building, a massive job in this series, weaves together a spider's web designed just to tempt the reader and keep them engaged.

The Silver Door

I could not put this book down. Once again, Rodda drew me in and did not let me go. As I mentioned in my review of "The Golden Door," Rodda absolutely astounds with world building and the way she connects these seemingly disparate portions of Dorne in a way that draws me to the third book in the series so much that I will likely finish that the same day that I write this review as well.

Rye and Sonia have faced the heart-stopping perils of the land behind the golden Door, and the cold terrors that lurk behind the silver Door as well. By a miracle, they have survived them both. But Weld is still under threat, and many questions remain to be answered. Rye knows what he has to do. One Door remains a mystery-the ancient wooden Door that he has been drawn to from the beginning. All he has to do is dare to go through it.

The Third Door

I absolutely loved this conclusion to the series. Rodda grabbed my attention right from the beginning and continued building out the world while tying together everything the reader learned from the beginning of the series in such a satisfying conclusion that gives tremendous aha! moments once the characters understand those three doors and where they lead.
I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
