First Shift: Legacy
The incredible first part of the follow up to bestseller Wool. Donald Keene has been recruited by the government to design a shelter. He has been told that it is just protocol. That it won’t really be used. That it is ‘just-in-case’. It is underground. Over fifty years later Donald’s design has been realised and the last remnants of mankind live in his silo. But no one can remember what life was like before. In fact, they’re forced to forget. One simple pill erases a memory. And with it, any chance of hope.

If you're a fan of dystopian fiction, definitely check out Wool. First Shift is a prequel to the five original installments in the Wool series. Howey is a talented storyteller, and I've enjoyed every installment in this series. This volume gives readers a glimpse into how the post-apocalyptic world of Wool came about, alternating between two characters' points of view. The story is woven together very well, and it's quite entertaining, even if the prose is occasionally a little clumsy. Howey does a great job of letting his readers know just enough, and saving many questions to be answered later.
