My first Bond continuation novel. This has all of the ingredients you expect in a great James Bond story. I flew through this book. The French Riviera makes for a fun location. The villain is loathsome. The climax is more thrilling than many of the movies. Sixtine is one of the best Bond Girls ever. She has an interesting dynamic with Bond because she's older and more experienced than him. She's treated as an equal, which hasn't always been the case with other Bond Girls. She teaches him a few things.

It was a nice short, chill book.

** spoiler alert ** It has 'bond' vibes and did a good job in paying a tribute to the iconic James bond - 'shaken not stirred', how he came into the 007 role, and the start of his transformation into a 'cold hearted killer' . However, I felt like the plot wasn't very original - the chair scene (similar to Casino Royale, Skyfall) meeting the bond girl sixtine at a casino/ bar (again similar to Casino Royale, Skyfall) reminding me an awful lot of Severine. I just wanted the plot to be a little more original than what it was. Oh, and the plot kinda lost me halfway, possibly due to the confusion I had with the characters and the plot , but it was still interesting enough that I continued reading. I will still pick up 'A mind to kilI'.

This book make me like the movies more but book was a let down
