Silence for the Murderer

Dulcie Heath is looking forward to meeting Frank Roscoe after six years. He has been abroad in the army and she hopes they will marry. But Roscoe tells her he stole money to pay off a gambling debt and is now being blackmailed. So begins a story that goes on to include an apparent suicide and investigations under Inspector French.
