Lovecraft's Syndrome An Asperger's Appraisal of the Writer's Life
It has become almost a game in certain circles to "spot the Aspie" among iconic figures present and past. If it is a game, at least it is one with a serious purpose: to counter the image of Asperger's weakness with an equal image of Asperger's strength. Did H. P. Lovecraft have Asperger's Syndrome? This little book tries to answer that question. It shows, by checking the patterns of his history and personality, his weaknesses and strengths, against the commoner patterns of that syndrome, that he was at least a strong candidate for the diagnosis. It demonstrates how the effects of that syndrome could have both limited and expanded his life.
