This is Falling. What a beautiful story. There was something about this book that made it so great, especially with the little flashes of heartbreak and insecurity. Ginger Scott really succeeded in dragging me into the plot and the characters and showing me their unique personalities and emotions. She really made the characters real to me and shared their pain and joy. This book was definitely a unique experience that any reader can enjoy.

Rowe was such a contradiction. She was equally scared and outgoing which made for a unique combination when put into difficult situations. She was so brave, yet so easily frightened. She wasn’t the ‘normal’ scarred girl who went back and forth with herself on whether or not she should trust Nate. Once she decided she stuck with it even when she had her doubts. Ginger Scott made her into the perfect character for this book. She was innocent yet mischievous when the time was right and I loved how she challenged Nate. 

“You should make more wishes”

I liked how Nate was a realistic guy with a soft side. He didn’t make a major change in his attitude to be with Rowe and that’s one thing that really helped their relationship along. Another plus to his character was the mistakes he made. While they were damaging they weren’t unforgivable and I liked how the author kept it from crossing that line. Some books like to cross that line and then try to back track –> which leaves me with mixed emotions and a dislike for the guy. Nate was the perfect combo. of mushy and manly and every girl will have a crush on him by the end of the book.

Josh was another big part of this book. While he wasn’t physically present, he played a big part in Nate and Rowe’s relationship. The way that he was included in the book was subtle for the most part. His only big role was during the big ‘Revelation and Reveal’ conflict in the book yet this didn’t make him unimportant. His influence on Rowe put a lot of pressure on Nate and it was exciting to see how he would handle it!

Overall this book was super great and I can’t wait to read book 2, which is about Ty and Cass. Throughout This is Falling, the book gave little updates on their relationship and I am so excited to see their story. I pretty much fell in love with him during this book so I know the next is going to be amazing.

I liked This is Falling. The characters were mostly likable. The story was interesting. My heart broke for Rowe and what she went through in the past. It was a quick and easy read that was big on the feels. 

Rowe was pretty easy to understand and like. I thoroughly enjoyed her sassy and playful side, even though it was such a stark contrast to her insecure and traumatized side. If I'm honest, I didn't LOVE Nate though. He was just a little too vanilla for me. There were moments where I absolutely adored him and then others where I found him too bland. Now, Nate's brother, Ty, was freaking fantastic, however. I could barely get enough of him in this book, and I can't wait for his story. 

I loved that Nate pushed her, but never too hard. He wanted to help her move on from her tragic past. They were sweet together. They had a playful dynamic that was cute, if immature at times. (I could have lived without the fart jokes. It's just not my thing.) Regardless of my tiny issue with that, it was impossible not to enjoy the two of them together and realize what a great pair they made. They pushed each other in ways they both needed and I rooted for them from the start. 

The story of Rowe's recovery and her second chance love with Nate was great. Sure, there were some things that happened in the plot that I definitely could have lived without – they seemed like unnecessary strife to me – but, all in all this was a lovely story. With Nate, Rowe learned it's possible to grieve the past, but live in the present. She survived, she has a future and that's ok. The pain and guilt will both subside with time. 

This is Falling is my first Ginger Scott book, but it definitely won't be my last. It kept me hooked from beginning to end and tugged at my heartstrings. I am really looking forward to the sequel, Ty's book, You and Everything After.

           3.5 stars. This reminded me of Wait For Me by Jennifer Armentrout. Which I really like, and I did enjoy this. I liked that her past was pretty different then most female protagonists. I liked that Nate wasn't the stereotypical bad boy. Ty cracked me up. The conflict bugged me a bit. I know she's going through a lot, but I wish she'd seen how hard it was for Nate to tell her. And since when does the guy tell the truth instead of lying to "protect them" still turn out badly. I really wish her dad didn't tell him in the first place.

This book was... eh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. I liked the overall theme of overcoming past traumas, and the way they didn't make the boyfriend the "cure" for all the girl's problems. However, the overall plot was a little messy. It wasn't horrible, but I kept waiting for a big conflict for the couple to overcome when it was just, kind of boring. 

I also didn't love either of the main characters. Nate was fine, but I didn't fall in love with him, I was just kind of indifferent. Rowe is kind of one of those "not like other girls" girls. I absolutely hate when the main character puts down other girls because they value appearance or dress nice. As a society, we've grown past the need to bash "basic" girls. It's one of my biggest book pet peeves and this book would've definitely been three stars if it weren't for that. 

Overall, the book wasn't bad and I generally enjoyed it, but I wouldn't read it again. I'll probably forgot I read it within the week.
