What a wonderful, sad, beautiful story. 

I can’t say much about it except that it’s a good last book to the trilogy, with lots of character development, lots of action, some surprises, and LOTS of emotional moments. 

These characters inspire loyalty and feel incredibly real — I found myself super involved and committed to the story and the characters’ choices and fates, so now I feel like a broken husk of a person because this beautiful trilogy is over, it didn’t end like I wanted to (but it did have a fitting ending), and I have zero hope that I’ll feel this connection to another MC any time soon.
I’m happy to have read it, heartbroken that it’s over (and about some other stuff), and so grateful to have stumbled upon this gorgeous, criminally under-hyped trilogy!

Perhaps a hair under 4 stars because you know how I hate military strategizing and battle scenes, but let’s round it up to  4 STARS because it’s completely deserved.

Okay, so I think the best part of this book was Nathan's characterization. It's a good portrayal of trauma. His narration didn't draw me in much though.

Well, I've just finished this final book in the trilogy. What gets a nice big fat check mark off my tolerable list is:
-Nathan DOES realize he's a stupid idiot 
-Nathan and Gabriel proceed to be in a romantic relationship (!!)
-Nathan kicks some SERIOUS ass with his powers
-Annalise disappears, but more like in the first 60 pages. 

I was very happy with the character progression and the fact that Nathan and Gabriel do end up in a relationship. That big moment in the novel is the only part that got a positive reaction from me. 

Either than that checklist, it's terrible. I still can't stand the writing style, and I still can't stand Nathan.

I feel like this book never even had a climax. It just started, and ended, very slowly. There was nothing going on, everything just happened without any excitement or expressiveness -solely excluding Nathan and Gabriel's relationship. Without those two, there would literally be nothing to this novel. 

The ending was a bit disappointing as well. I thought "YES FINALLY A GAY COUPLE IN A YA THRILLER/FANTASY" and then -nope. To top it all of, Nathan has a KID, ignores ALL of his responsibilities in life, and turns into a TREE as a form of suicide. Hey, I'm not saying I can't deal with sad endings -they exist and exist well for books. I'm not disappointed in the fact that the author tried to go the devastating route -I'm disappointed because it was shit. I was alright up until the point Arran was like "hey guess what you have a son" and thought oh HERE we go...

Let me say that again: Nathan turns into a TREE. That is supposed to be the all out series ending moment that leaves you feeling content and at peace after a huge character death. I'm sorry, I can't take him turning into a tree as a comforting omen. 

Whatever, if you enjoyed this trilogy, more power to you, I wish I could of enjoyed it myself.

The Things-That-Will-Make-This-Book-Tolerable List:

-Annalise disappears within the first 20 pages.
-Nathan realizes his a stupid idiot.
-Nathan proceeds to be in a romantic relationship with Gabriel.
-Nathan kicks a bunch of ass with his powers.
-The writing style improves.
-Annalise seriously never comes back. Ever.

This was the perfect conclusion to this trilogy. I was a bit uncertain at first, Nathan was at his lowest and I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this new path he was on but Green proved once more she knew what she was doing.

I will write a full review soon but I need to get my feelings straight about this. It was the right ending, but it's difficult to remember that when everything is still so raw.

Yeah so I'm not even going to bother reviewing this properly. I hated this book, every second of it. It was 2.5 stars when I first read it but now, 8 months later, I'm still pissed off at what Green did and I can't even remember the probably 2 things that I liked about it so I'm changing it to 1 star. I wish I hadn't read this book. I wish I had just stopped reading after book 2 while I still loved the series. All this book did was make me lose the love I had for the series and ensure that I'll never read another book by Sally Green. I'm sick of the narrative LGBTQ+ characters get in books/movies/TV shows/literally everything and I can't believe Sally Green decided to go with that same narrative that is such an insult to the LGBTQ+ community. This used to be one of my favourite series every. I'm sad and pissed off that it ended this way.

Wow, I can't think of a better ending for poor Nathan. So many times in the YA genre, series endings are wrapped up like presents, with perfect endings where karma wins out and everyone goes home happy, but I like it much more when the ending feels more like real life. A little harsher, but still beautiful, and I think this series did that perfectly. 

I really enjoyed this series and will definitely be rereading it to re-experience allllll the feels.

Half Lost is the final book in the Half Bad series by Sally Green. The first book was in my top ten favorites a few years ago and I loved the sequel, Half Wild. Half Lost was released a few days ago, March 29th. So let’s get this review started!

So, um, wow. Yeah. Well. That…happened. And it happened good. Like, what a perfect way to end the series. I mean really. There are so many things I want to say about this book, but every piece is so integral to the story that I fear giving it all away and it is so hard not to talk about , so very VERY hard. I want to talk about how all of Sally’s characters grow into these beautiful and amazing people. About the love and friendships shared between them all, about the jealousy and anger, the tears and the laughter.This will easily go down as one of my all time favorite series.

I was so nervous when I embarked upon this final book in the series. I had certain expectations. Things I was sure were going to happen. Directions the story would take. These expectations – no, I’m not going to say if they were met in any way, shape or form – kept me on edge for the entire read.

Arrrgh….

There are SO MANY THINGS I want to talk about. So many things that happened that absolutely killed me. So many things that made me grin like a complete and total idiot. But I can’t. Which is killing me. Abso-freaking-lutely killing me.

But Farah, you have been praising the book, why did you gave it 4 stars? To answer your question, that’s because of the ENDING!!! After reading the book, you will understand the meaning of the cover and the title….and I bet you will cry like a baby like me :’) Really, Sally, I never believed you could do this. Now, leave me alone to cry.
