Harry Potter Page to Screen The Complete Filmmaking Journey
Reviews

This was such a fantastic and visually stunning detailed look into the amount of effort that was put into the Harry Potter films. Firstly, I loved the format of this. We get film specific chapters as well as general overviews of characters, artefacts, settings and creatures. The format of each page was also done really well, none felt cluttered and there was a good text to pictures ratio seeing as this is a very visual book. Bob McCabe’s voice is also great as he doesn’t have much of one. It’s very factual and to the point and it’s the people he interviews that really shine, and rightfully so. I found myself really engaged with the ups and downs of this franchise and how everyone has grown and changed. I really felt like I’d lived through the experience with them. Although it was exciting to get behind the scenes information from the actors, I really take my hat off to the crew and designers in particular. The amount of detail that went into each prop, costume and set piece is phenomenal. I have a whole new level of appreciation for the films. Overall, a really insightful book about the filmmaking process of these delightful films. If you’re a casual fan, I wouldn’t recommend this book. But if you’re a major fan and are interested in filmmaking, this one’s definitely for you. It’s also been quite a few years since this was released so it’s cheaper than it was.

A must have for any Harry Potter fan.

Ok, I didn't read the WHOLE book yet but every once in a while I pick up the book, get a random page and read for a while. It's a great book!

Have read this book cover to cover twice! It's brilliant for Harry Potter fans, and those interested in the inner workings of the film industry

I loved every page and every detail in this book. I think its one of my most precious books en certainly the most heavy one! For the diehard Harry Potter fans this is a book you must have read. Its wonderfully done.

Blog | Twitter | Instagram Perfect for Harry Potter fans of all ages, this exclusive behind the scenes look of adapting the beloved books to film is a blast from start to finish. Although the translation from page to screen was tricky at best (and not always as captivating/magical as the books) it still remains one of the most aesthetically pleasing adaptations of all time. J.K. Rowling's world is brought to life in colour, vivid representations of our imagination and seeing the journey in new ways is always a delight. I loved seeing all the artwork and beginnings to the people who breathed life into her words; there is just something magical about how it was made. A must-have for HP-fans and film junkies alike.
