Right away we are in the thick of it with protagonist Leslie as she comes to have a massive explosion has taken place and taken her fiance. 
We meet back up with Leslie a year after the explosion. She works as an archeologist, and seeming in her spare time- talks to the dead. She is being called back to the scene of the explosion. Possibly to get some closure on the death of her fiancé. We also follow Matt's cousin Joe, a private investigator who is looking into a missing person's who may be connected to the missing prostitutes.
In a rather interesting addition to this story we also get the POV of Matt, despite him being dead. He is still attached to the house where he passed away at.
Joe and Leslie finally meet and Leslie decides to work with Joe in his missing persons case as well as still helping out local ghosts. It makes for a fun and mysterious read.
