I LOVED this book!!! Ryley and Evan were high school sweethearts. Together they built a life together and Ryley became pregnant with their first child. Then everything shattered. Evan, a navy seal, was sent on what was supposed to be an in and out mission. One he would never return from....or so Ryley and his family were told. A funeral was had and goodbye's were made. Slowly, everyone began to move on. This included Ryley entering a relationship with Evan's twin brother Nate. They are due to be married in just two weeks time. But once again, Ryley and Evan's family are rocked to the core, as Evan shows up on their doorstep six years later. Alive. He has no idea Ryley and his family have been told he was dead. He doesn't understand how this could be. Evan had been receiving care packages every other week with items and photos of his son EJ, whom he has never had the opportunity to meet. Evan's life is now being lived by his twin brother Nate. The question is how did this happen? Why did the Seals allow everyone to think his team was dead when they obviously weren't? And where does this leave Ryley and Evan's relationship? As far as Evan is concerned, they never broke up. They are still together. What follows is an absolutely heart wrenching novel of the unfairness of life. You can't possibly read this novel without feeling the emotional angst deep in your gut. There are no winners here. I can't wait to read Nate's take on all of this...although something tells me he is somehow involved despite his obvious shock at the end....We shall see!
