We listened to this on a road trip. It was good enough to keep me engaged and awake while I was driving. That said there were times when the narration itself felt like the speed was too slow and theatrical. It could have been my iPod, it is kind of broken. Dialogue between two characters felt real, as in the correct speed/pace but when there was a descriptive section that was obviously the narrator it would sound like suddenly the pacing was too slow. I checked my iPod a couple times to make sure that the reading speed hadn't accidently been switched to 0.75x instead of 1.0x. I'll be honest I often listen to audibles at 1.25x speed so maybe it was me. The story itself was interesting, I really had no clue who the bad guy was until very near the end. The author throws a few options at you. I did find the romance between Lacey and Jack forced but ignored that. Oh and I HATED the guy who was the Lacey's best friend.
