Cute romcom. Some surprisingly good flirty scenes, but spice level 1/5. Trope of He Underestimates Her and She Sets Out To Prove Him Wrong. Fun, easy read.

This book had me laughing from the beginning. It was such a fun romcom! I’m obsessed with romance books with cute dogs and Wheezy really stole the show in this one, he was great. I just want to cuddle him. 

I really enjoyed the relationship between Ruby and Spencer, their banter really made me laugh. They’re enemies to lovers and grumpy/sunshine, what more could you want? And the spicy scenes between them…🥵

If you’re looking for a quick feel-good read, then definitely pick this one up!

Rom coms are my weaknesses and just so easy to read, that's what I love about them. I Hate You More was no exception to that rule. It was an adorable read I thoroughly enjoyed.

Former pageant queen, Ruby, a gorgeous nursing assistant that works in a retirement home, agrees to enter one of the residents dog, Wheezy, into the dog show. As simple as that may sound, it becomes anything but, when Spencer, one of the judges of said dog show, makes it nearly impossible for Ruby to enter. But Spencer doesn't know what he is up against, Ruby won't take no for an answers.

Reluctantly agreeing, Spencer allows Ruby to enter Wheezy into the show on one condition, she needs to get the dog trained. Hiring the help of his twin brother Caleb, Ruby insists that Wheezy will be the finest boy in the show. Of course, that would be a lot easier if Wheezy actually liked Ruby. Which he doesn't. And he doesn't like taking orders either.

Working in close proximity to Spencer, feelings began to bloom for the grumpy dog show judge and vet. However, Ruby needs to make sure that Spencer does not see her as another pretty face and he needs to make sure that Ruby prefers him over Caleb.

The book is just cute. Wheezy is a hot mess and I love him. Ruby is an amazing person and I really connected with her. She feels as if she has nothing more to offer than a pretty face. But she is determined to prove people wrong. Spencer is dry, but I like who he is when he is with Ruby.

If you like dogs and rom coms, this is definitely one you are going to want to add. There is a little spice too!

Ruby Taylor is no stranger to beauty pageants. By the time she was eighteen, she had won more crowns than one person could ever need and decided enough was enough. She swore she'd never return to the competition world, but when one of her beloved residents at her retirement home swindles her into entering her Golden Retriever, Wheezy, in the upcoming West Coast Canine Classic, Ruby has no choice but to polish up her pageant smile. Spencer Wilson is a by-the-book veterinarian and takes his job as a dog-show judge very seriously. So, when he meets Ruby and her overweight-definitely-not-purebred-dog, he tells her to quit while she's ahead. Ruby has never been one to back down from a challenge and is prepared to pull out all the stops to whip Wheezy into shape and make Spencer eat his words. What she wasn't prepared for was losing her heart in the process.

When I read the synopsis of this, I felt like it was written just for me. A grumpy/sunshine rom-com featuring a dog? Sign me up! While this was adorable and had its charming moments, it was ultimately a little too bland for my tastes. Since this is pretty short, everything moves quite quickly and I think that hurt the story a bit. You only really get a few chapters of Ruby and Spencer clashing before they're coupled up. It was like on one page they were bickering, and then a few paragraphs later, they were hooking up. I think this would've benefitted if it had been 50 or so pages longer. It would've given Gilmore more time to build the tension and fully flesh out Ruby and Spencer's dynamic to make it feel more natural. It was a cute premise, and Wheezy definitely added some hilarious moments, but I just wanted a little bit more.

This was such a cute and light-hearted romance! 
I loved the challenging, magnetic and mature relationship between Ruby and Spencer and it definitely got spicy as well. And if this grumpy dog show judge and determined former beauty queen hadn't already won over my heart then I'm sure the dogs would have. I could totally picture having a lazy and strong-willed dog like Wheezy, and he had me laughing quite a few times. 
I'm also glad that there were a lot of lovely side characters which gave both the main characters a life outside of their romance which is important for me. You read from both Ruby's perspective and Spencer's, although I was expecting it to be Caleb, Spencer's brother, at first. 
I really enjoyed this one and would definitely recommend this to the romance and dogs fans! 🐶❣️
