Twilight Cruise

Margi calls in with a surprise for the Mary and Eddie for their joint birthday and anniversary. A very humorous start to the story with Mary, Eddie and Margi swapping stories and banter, which shows their ability to both give and take a bit and also their undeniable love for each other. Margi's surprise for them is a cruise for the elderly, a twilight cruise. Eddie is initially dead set against it, but he agrees to go because Margi has already paid. Once they board the ship Mary's world turns upside down, she finds herself in a never-ending dream/nightmare where she is thrust back into her past and isn't sure whether it's real or an extremely vivid dream. The whole cruise revolves around her memories, and Captain Kenneth P Thompson seems to know exactly what she's going through but he refuses to acknowledge it. The end of the cruise results in a cruel twist for Mary, bringing a lot of sadness and loneliness into her life.
