took me a year and a half to finally complete because it took so much brain power but actually a 4 star. I found it fascinating to see how stories are intertwined in Dante’s Cantos. Pagans and christianity, the ancient greek, roman’s and egyptians, the normandy, the roman catholic church and politics, all had great influence over the time and his writing. The Inferno is a book of poetic history and revolutionary imagination. It’s fascinating to read, but very slow paced and confusing since every time there was a name mentioned you would have to read a footnote about who that person was and their significance. But still amazing nonetheless. 🔥❄️
