Ugh, that’s all I have to say for now 2.5

i have so many thoughts... not all of them good but the fact that I actually felt something while reading this merited bumping it up to a 4 star. I'll return with more detailed thoughts once I wrap my head around everything.

After wrapping up ‘Infinity Son’, I was a little apprehensive to pick this up just due to the first novel not meeting my high expectations. But thank the book Gods above for blessing me with this piece. The phenomenal character development, romance (more so a love triangle I refuse to speak about because we all look how I feel about them), LGBTQIA representation, magical components and actions scenes that had me sitting at the edge of my seat, writing style, built up and direction of the storyline surpass the first installment in every single way. If you want engaging material, then look no further—‘Infinity Reaper’ has everything you need in a young adult fantasy novel including characters that are well written, memorable, and distinctive despite the many character POVs. All in all, an amazing novel from start to end, and that ending…! 2022 can’t come fast enough!

** spoiler alert ** Honestly, I am quite disappointed. I decided to give a chance to the second book after I read the first one, but it just got worse. To be honest, I do like the world created in this trilogy, it is a very interesting idea per sé. However, the plot has so many holes that I do not even know where to start. The ending tho was the most annoying part: who thought it was a good idea taking Brighton's powers away exactly when they're needed the most? The war is ongoing and the team is lacking, it's really not the time for fights. I seriously don't think it would have been smart binding his powers. And now he's gone and betrayed his own brother. Good job y'all, you really know how to solve problems👏 Even though I knew it would come to a serious fight between the brothers, I seriously hope that in the third book they'll be at peace with each other. I'll read the third book only to find out what happens, and I hope it has at least a good ending. 👀
