It Came from the Multiplex 80s Midnight Chillers
Reviews

Thank you to NetGalley and Hex Publishers for an e-arc of the book in exchange for an honest review. 5/5 stars. It Came from the Multiplex: 80s Midnight Chillers is a blast from the past and more than I could have asked for as a fan of 80’s horror cinema. If, like me, you’re a fan of the old school “B” Horror movies, drive-ins, and slasher films this is definitely the book for you! The book contains an amazing collection of short stories about serial killers, ghosts, and all kinds of other ghouls waiting to come for you in the night (or while you’re watching your next horror flick). Every story is fun to read and full to twists that will keep you wanting more.

I was not immediately sold on this anthology, as I struggled to get into the stories and really had a challenging time with the humor/horror blend initially. However, as I read further along, I really got into this collection and appreciated the vibe overall. Thanks to NetGalley/Hex Publishers for the review copy!

This short story collection was a hit and miss for me. I wished some of the stories were a lot longer and some I wished were a lot shorter. I was introduced to a few new author's that I'm looking forward to reading more from. Here is a list of the stories I enjoyed the most: Negative Creep by Alvaro Zinos-Amaro Helluloid by Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore Creature Feature by Gary Jonas The Devil's Reel by Sean Eads & Joshua Viola On The Rocks By K. Nicole Davis Coming Attractions By Stephen Graham Jones I have given all of the above short stories 4 stars Publish your review! We’ve already copied it to your clipboard.

**I received a copy of this via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review** Raise your hand if you're a sucker for cheesy B-horror/sci-fi movies. If your hand is raised, this anthology is for you. It's essentially a love letter to all those movies that are so bad you have no choice but to love them. In this anthology, you have 14 different short stories that touch upon different topics but that all have a movie theater aspect or setting to tie them together. Whether you're a fan of werewolves, bugs that burrow into your ear and take over your mind, or haunted theaters, you're bound to find something to pique your interest. As is the case for anthologies, there are stories that fall slightly shorter than others. I don't think every story was great, but there were some definite standouts, such as "Helluloid" and "Creature Feature." This whole thing gave me such Creepshow vibes, and I really enjoyed it despite some shaky moments and would recommend to anyone who enjoys a good scare.

I don’t read books like this often but I was in the mood for something different . I am so happy I read this because I have loved every minute of this hell of a ride. You love 80’s horror movies like I do then I think you will want to read this one. I love this anthology so much. I will be wanting to read this again in the future and I would just love to get my hands on a physical copy of this. I recommend .

This anthology is a collection of short stories all written in the vein of 80s horror movies and set in drive-ins and movie theaters. As with most anthologies, some stood out a little more than others, but all gave me the feeling of going to the theater with a big bucket of popcorn and watching classic horror films with friends. The stories feature classic creatures such as werewolves, alien parasites, bug men, and ghosts. It Came from the Multiplex: 80s Midnight Chillers is a great way to get into the fall/Halloween spirit any time of year. Thank you to NetGalley, the editors and authors and Hex Publishing for the opportunity to review this horror anthology.
