MIGHT CONTAIN SPOILERS *Read for class. Ugh. I'm so fucking tired of men. Sorry, sorry. Maybe just of men in classic books. Why are they so weak, so cheating, so fucking thinking with their dicks? How many times will I see this trope about promising the world to the girl and cheating with, of course, a femme fatale who's obviously not interested in "happily ever after" with you. Because only femme fatale can be powerful, thinking, independent and bold. And she HAS to be a destroyer of peoples' happiness. Because no proper woman can be a free-thinker. Because the only Thank god Gemma was happy in the end. She's the only precious thing (and maybe her mother and brother) in this novella. Sanin is a typical guy I hate in books. And after everything he's done, he's going to America after her? What for? To do what? Be a reminder? Gemma is so good she forgave him, answered him, was nive to him... I'm enraged. I know "times were different", but people weren't. Staying loyal to your heart is not that difficult. If those feelings were real in his heart. I'm only giving this book 3 stars cause I've actually enjoyed it quite a lot, it was interesting and I kept rooting for Sanin and Gemma, I loved the scenes of them with her family all the way to the point where he stayed with Maria Nikolaevna.
