I hate to say it, but this is my least favorite Jennifer Armentrout book. Wait for You felt like a mashup of every New Adult book out there right now. I really wanted to like this, and maybe if I had read this a year ago I might have liked it more. Now, though, the storyline and characters are just so predictable.

 Now all I want to say....J.Lynn has done it again and I was blown over by Wait For You. This was such a fantastic read here, and I knew that this was a couple I was very eager for. I was first introduced to them in Stay with Me. I loved this pair and it was great seeing them together after finding their HEA. So I wanted to read their story very badly. And it was so worth it, and now I am curious about reading the book with Cam's POV. This story is all in Avery's POV. Which was nice, but there were many moments I wanted to see Cam's side of things. Avery is a heroine you root for in the beginning. She has gone through some really bad times with no one to back her up. Betrayed by her own parents and friends is never easy. She is still figuring out her own strengths and weaknesses. We see how she grows from the beginning being too terrified to go to a party or go on a date with Cam----to someone that isn't afraid of those things. But it takes a journey of leap of faiths that Avery has to go through before she gets to find her happy ending. Cameron is quite a delicious hero and I loved how dedicated he is to Avery. He doesn't have a flawless past, and he is in a position to understand Avery in a way that no one else can. I respected him highly in this book so much, because we see the way he cares for Avery, and is so patient with her. He doesn't rush her in any way, and I loved seeing the gentle care he gives out to Avery.
This was such a delicious romance because we see a group of aspects build in the story and the side characters were so delightful. I especially loved Avery's two friends and Cam's family. And the Tortoise----he was cool too :) The humor was so perfect because it really added a lighter tone to the story that I felt was needed. Boy did I have many laugh out loud moments. The actual romance was definitely swoon worthy, and so many fantastic moments developed between these two. There is some heart ache, mistrust and these two go through the ringer a bit, but the ending was so perfect for them.I loved seeing their journey together and the way they were able to overcome the past and build a solid present for each other.

 The Narration 
This narration was superb and I am just falling  more and more in love with Sophie Eastlake. Such great talent we have here. I did like the way she used various tones and accents for different characters involved in the story. She also did a fab job with the emotional tone to the book. It wasn't over played at all, felt just right. Definitely going to be listening to her more.

I loved Wait For You by J. Lynn. One of the things I love about Wait For You is the journey from building Avery and Cam’s friendship before they have a relationship. But it has to be done right and be able to keep me interested and not boring. J. Lynn nailed it with Wait For You. Their friendship was a journey I loved reading about and her characters kept it going with cute, fun humor that never got old or boring. 
 
When Avery was a young teen, a bad incident happened to her that left her broken. She is an only child and her parents were not around much. After the bad incident she needed her family and friends the most. They all turned on her. For years she had no more friends and never dated, that is until she left home to attend college across state to start a new life. She meets Brittany, Jacob and Cam in college and forms a friendship that she has not had in a long time. I loved how she was a strong will character and really tried as much as she could to put the past behind her. I love how J. Lynn portrayed Avery’s character. It was realistic, especially after what had happened to her in the past. It is not a light matter. Now Cam who is hot and well known around campus is showing interest in her. He ask her out and she declines. From there they build a friendship. Deep down inside she is interested but does not know how to handle it. 
 
Hands down Cam is the most swoon worthy hero I have read. Right from the beginning his swoon moments start and never stops. I loved how he was there wiping her tears when ever something bad has happened. The best are the Sunday breakfast times they have together. The love and patience he has for Avery is amazing. Cam has been asking Avery out for months before she finally says yes. It is fun and cute the way he would slip it in with their conversations. Cam is a sexy tattoo, charming hero with a great sense of humor and it is not cheesy, just adds so much more to his character.

His mothers eyes widened and a bit of color infused her cheeks. “Uh, I’m...”
“I’m Avery,” I said. Shooting Cam a look. “You had it right.”
 
I love how his great personality brought Avery’s fun personality out too. He makes her feel happy and alive again. The banter between them is pure fun. He is arrogant and she gives it right back at him. I loved how he has a pet turtle name Raphael. 


“Everything about me is thrilling.” he replied.
“About as thrilling as watching your tortoise cross a road.”
“Uh-huh. Keep telling yourself that sweetheart.”
 
Wow! Once they become a couple they are hot together. The sex scenes are steamy and well done. I loved how he is patient with her and never pushes her any further till she is ready. The sexual tension is smoking hot. 
 
"Guess What, Avery?"
"What?" I wondered if he could see how fast my heart was beating beneath my shirt.
"Remember how you just said you were having a good time?" Cam lowered his head so that our mouths were scant inches apart. "It's about to get better."
"Is It?"
He shifted his head and his nose grazed mine. "Oh, yeah."


Their relationship does have a few bumps along the way, that were at times heart wrenching. The best is their characteristics never change once a couple, still cute and playful with each other.


He kissed the center of my back then his lips were on the flare of my hip. Warm breath danced over my lower back and then he kissed my right cheek.
I giggled, wiggling.
"You know what they say about a guy who kisses a girl's ass? Literally?"
"He knows his place?"
"Ha. Ha." He swept my hair off my neck and kissed me there. "He's absolutely in love with the girl."
 
Cam has some issues from his past, that he has had to learn how to deal with it. Cam is very protective when it comes to his family and anyone he cares for. He can get jealous at times but it is not overly done.
 
The only thing that bothered me was the constant mentioning of Cam’s striking blue eyes from Avery. Other words were used too but always had to mention the eye color. Yep got it quit a few times in the beginning. Did not need the repeat. About halfway through it stopped with the mentioning of eye color and would just mention striking eyes etc. 
 
I loved the secondary characters. Jacob was a hoot and hilarious. Brittany was a good friend to Avery. I loved whenever the three of them were together added so much fun moments in the story and never took away from Avery and Cam’s time. Cam’s room mates are fun too. It was never boring or felt like fill ins just to make the book longer. Cam’s parents and sister were great and funny. We get a little insight on something bad that has happened to his sister Teresa. Very excited Be With Me (Wait For You #2) is coming in 2013. I hope it is about Teresa. Wait For You is a great start to a promising series. Highly recommend for all New Adults fans and Adult romance fans looking for an awesome read with realistic characters that jump of the pages. Wait For You is a keeper for me when I am in the mood for a good friends to lover novel with a swoon worthy hero.

So sweet! Absolutely LOVED it! This was my first New Adult book that I've read and it was so refreshing and I just love Jennifer Armentrout. She's brillant in just about everything she writes. Although this book did take me some time to finish it because Avery just frustrated me but then you find out her whole story and its understandable why she had such a hard time fully letting Cam in. CAM. Oh my god. Cam. SO PERFECT. SO SO PERFECT. He says all the right things, he's funny, cocky, lovable, so sweet and omg he knows exactly what to say to a girl. I defintely fan girled at almost everything he said. How he wouldn't stop asking Avery out, no matter how many times she said no, then hearing about his past and how understanding he was and how sweet he was and how much he loved Avery..I can go on and on about Cam! Avery was a more complicated character to read about but my heart broke for her and her character development was wonderful. She came so far and I loved watching her grow up into such a strong person. I also really loved Jacob and Britt. Britt was a great friends and Jacob was hilarious. This book had just the right amount of angst and cute moments. Loved it!

I really enjoyed this book! I have been reading a lot of new adult/YA books lately and this is one of my favorites. 
This book follows Avery, who is a freshman in college. Avery has secrets; like why is she afraid of getting close to people, why she avoids parties, and why she doesn't go home for breaks. Her walls were up. 
Then there is Cam. Sweet, impulsive, and handsome Cam who lives across from Avery. No matter how much she tries, she cannot avoid him-she doesn't even want to. Cam makes her feel normal, like her past is gone. But the past can't stay away forever and when she starts getting threatening emails, calls, and texts-she starts to figure that out. 

I really liked this book. I was swooning over Cam in .5 seconds. While I didn't agree with all of the characters choices, I still found them believable and oh-so-real. 

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the new adult romance genre. It was definitely a great read!

look up trigger warnings before reading this :) JLA’s writing has improved so much since this was released lmaoo, it kinda felt like I was reading a fanfic. cam & avery were cute, their bonding moments were definitely the best parts of the novel. my mind fancasted andrew garfield as cam even tho cam had blue eyes lol. I got impatient at points with avery’s lack of the communication, but I also understand why it was necessary for the character.

My only complaint is the spelling and grammatical errors in this. There are so many mistakes, the story is sweet enough that you can kinda look past it but they are pretty obvious.

I really enjoyed this book. I felt the ending was a little clichéd and predictable, but I wouldn't have liked it any other way, I s'pose. There was too much sex and in a way, I think it needed that element to show you how Avery had overcome her past trauma. Still, I thought there was a little too much. The story of the scar was only explored very lightly. I would've liked more explanation about that, and what actually happened to Blaine and Molly. On the other hand, Avery and Cam are great characters. I think all the characters are very well written and none of them are meaningless. The tortoise story is fab, and the whole plot makes you want to read more all the time. I bought this book Friday night and had finished it Saturday evening, because you can't put it down. Definitely a worthwhile read.

This is a really hard review for me to write. I love Jennifer L. Armentrout. I devoured her "Lux" series, and am anxiously waiting for Origin. I have every intension to read her new "Arum" series. But I can't get into this.

I really did like this novel at first. It had me laughing, which is always good. Most characters were good and the writing was sound. But I couldn't get over the protagonist. I know she went through a trauma, and, unlike some other books (cough, The Boy Who Sneaks in my Bedroom Window) Jennifer stayed true to what that sort of experience would do to a person. Still. I felt that Avery was a pretty naive character, and I found myself rolling my eyes at her a lot of the time.

The plot was good, but it dragged on. There was too much forced drama: the party, getting drunk, the fights, the break-ups, the make-ups. It was all too much. It felt like things were thrown in there to make it longer, but it only made everything that happened after seem insignificant. There were plenty of places the book could have ended, but didn't.

And there was a lot of sex. And a lot of sexual acts. And then more sex. It was too much. I'm glad that Jennifer had the decency to use poetic language when writing those scenes, unlike Abbi Glines, but it was unnecessary. I didn't need a play by play on the 7 or 8 times they "hooked up" and the 2 times they had sex. It was repetitive and, for the most part, embarrassing to read. There are a lot of ways to suggest more was happening than was being explained. I feel as though Jennifer was trying to break out of the YA genre and into the Adult Fiction. Still, that doesn't mean I have to know every time Cam goes down on her, or she touches herself *shudder*. 

It was in these sexy moments that Cam didn't seem as great a character to me. Yes, I know that even the sweetest and most genuine characters get turned on, and probably have sex, and moan, and that whole shibang. But, not only did I feel degraded every time he called Avery "sweetheart", It also felt as though he used her as a means to an end. The way he spoke and acted during those sex scenes felt primal and not at all lovely.

This book had a lot of potential. I wish it had been more to the point in its writing. i don't think I'll be continuing with the "Wait For You" series. Sorry, Jennifer. I think aliens are your forte.

I am a sucker for a good romance, and this was a good one. New Adult books have got a bad reputation, and some of the which I have read demonstrate why. THis is one of the ones people need to here about to show them it isn't all bad.

It's well written, the characters are real and fleshed out, for the most part. You can really tell that this is more than just about the romance. It is about growing as a person, accepting your flaws ad realising that honesty is the best policy because otherwise things are going to get complicated and things will crash down around you.

This is not going to be a lengthy review. I just wanted to say this is an excellent romance book and I would recommend it to anyone who is romantically inclined when it comes to reading. There is not an over-abundance of sex. None of it is gratuitous and it will give you the warm and fuzzies.

I'm trying really hard to separate my fangirl from my professional personality *bff laughs in background: you aren't pro, man* 

First off, let's talk about that sexiness. Cameron Hamilton is sexy, hot, gorgeous, thoughtful, charming all rolled into one package. I find myself swooning at the scenes and wishing he was real. Cameron is just the perfect guy for Avery and can make situations lighter just by making jokes. Do I need to explain myself further? He's kinda up there with the ultimate fictional boy (Daemon Black) so that's saying something.

Avery and Cam's developing relationship made everything really interesting. You can really feel what they're feeling and sympathize with them. I feel my heart breaking several times and I ALMOST COULDN'T BEAR IT. But for me, I'd be all over Cameron if I was Avery. I do know where she is coming from though. With her situation, I wouldn't want to date a guy either.

Is there anything bad in this book? Hell no. Everything was perfect! Haven't had that in a long time but Miss Armentrout is really good at writing the best books so I wasn't surprised. This book definitely met my extremely high expectations :)

Jeu de Patience c'était un nouveau challenge pour moi avec un nouveau genre que je n'avais jamais essayé, de nouveaux horizons et de nouvelles impressions: le New Adult. Alors le New Adult c'est quoi? D'après ce que j'ai pu comprendre c'est de la romance un peu dans le même style que le Young Adult mais avec des scènes trés holéholé (si vous voyez ce que je veux dire) et qui traite souvent de thèmes trés adultes et complexes comme par exemple les abus sexuels ou la violence conjugale. Alors il y a plusieurs degré de contenu "Adult", Jeu de Patience par exemple reste tout de même trés soft et il n'y a que trés peu de scènes érotiques et quand il y en a elles restent relativement "innocentes", si on peut dire. Mais il y a aussi des romans New Adult qui frisent presque la pornographie et le meilleur exemple connu de tous reste la célèbre série Cinquante Nuances de Grey.

Je vais vous dire honnêtement je ne suis pas frillante de ce genre de littérature, les scènes érotiques me dérangent et gachent la plupart du temps ma lecture, et dailleurs si j'avais su que Jeu de Patience était un New Adult (parce que non je n'étais pas au courant) je ne l'aurai certainement pas tenté. Mais au final je suis très contente de l'avoir découvert car malgré les quelques passages érotiques j'ai tout de même apprécié ma lecture. Tout ça pour dire, ne jugez pas un genre dans son ensemble, j'en suis un trés bon exemple: j'ai beau ne pas du tout apprécier l'érotisme dans les livres (ou dans quoi que ce soit d'autre d'ailleurs) il serait tout de même dommage de passer à côtés de bons romans à cause d'une seule malheureuse scène de fesse.

Mais ne nous emballons pas, daccord j'ai apprécié Jeu de Patience malgré qu'il fasse partis d'un genre que je n'affectione pas trop mais ce n'est pas non plus de la grande littérature.

Oui j'ai passé de bons moments auprés de Cam et Avery, j'ai dévoré ce livre en deux jours et j'avais du mal à m'arrêter, mais il y a tout de même beaucoup de détails qui m'ont empêché d'apprécier cette lecture à fond.

Le plus gros défaut pour moi c'est qu'il est trés prévisible. On dévine dés le début ce qui est arirvé à Avery 5 ans plus tôt. Rien quand lisant le résumé dailleurs c'est évident, mais on passe tout le livre en se disant que peut être c'est autre chose. Mais il faut l'admettre, il n'y aucune surprise dans ce roman, on peut deviner le fil des évènements trés aisément. Biensure j'ai quand même adoré accompagner Cam et Avery alors qu'ils se découvrent l'un l'autre et qu'ils apprennent à se faire confiance, mais tout ça manquait de mystère.

De manière générale les personnages masculins du type Cam ne sont pas trés intéressants dans un roman, de mon point de vue. Je m'explique: Cam, c'est le beau gôsse de la fac, il est canon, il est populaire, et en plus de ça c'est un gros dragueur qui flirt à tout va mais sans pour autant mal traiter les filles. C'est un charmeur, sans défaut et le monde entier est à ses pieds. Alors il est censé avoir un secret bien sombre mais finalement je ne l'ai pas trouvé si extraordinaire que ça... Cam est trés sympathique, c'est certainement le fantasme de pas mal de jeunes filles mais malheureusement il ne se démarque pas des autres personnages de ce genre de littérature. 
C'est le personnage lambda de toute romance, trés attachant mais du déjà vu, et c'est bien dommage! 

En revanche je trouve le personnage d'Avery trés bien travaillé. Comme dit plus haut on devine assez facilement son passé mais elle reste trés authentique dans ses réactions et sa manière de se couper du monde. On s'attache trés vite à elle, même plus qu'à Cam personnellement, et même si la fin de ce genre de roman est prévisible, on s'inquiète pour elle. J'ai aussi beaucoup aimé ces deux meilleurs amis (dont j'ai oublié le nom) qui m'ont fait penser à ceux du film Lolita Malgré Moi. Encore une fois, rien d'originale mais ils sont vraiment drôles et ajoutent juste la pointe d'humour qu'il faut pour ce genre de roman.

Une dernière chose qui m'a aussi gêné, mais c'est par rapport à l'auteur, c'est le troisième roman que je lis de Jennifer L. Armentrout et malheureusement j'ai trouvé le même problème dans ces trois romans: le niveau de langue au ras des paquerettes. Je comprends que du fait que ce soit raconté du point de vue de Avery, une jeune femme qui sort directement du lycée, et dans les deux autres romans que j'ai lu d'elle l'héroïne était lycéenne, forcément on ne va pas s'attendre à un langage trop soutenu. Mais honnêtement, les mots "Fuck" et "Shit" (je l'ai lu en anglais) toutes les deux lignes c'est un peu lourd. On peut trés bien écrire du point de vue d'une lycée sans pour autant être vulgaire constament, comme le fait trés bien par exemple Sophie Jomain dans Les Etoiles de Noss Head. Malheureusement c'est un problème que j'ai souvent rencontré dans la littérature Young Adult (et pour le coup aussi New Adult) américaine, des fois j'ai l'impression que l'auteur n'a même pas pris la peine de se relire et d'essayer de trouver une alternative à toutes ces injures. Et c'est dommage! Ca a quelque peut gâché ma lecture...

Mais comme je l'ai dis plus tôt, malgré ses défauts d'écriture Jennifer L. Armentrout sait comment rendre une lecture prenante et pour cause je n'ai pas pu lacher le livre les deux jours où je l'ai lu. On s'attache intimement avec les personnages et on a envie d'en savoir plus sur eux, de mieux les connaître. La romance avec Armentrout est toujour aussi délicieuse et addictive, on frémit d'impatience à l'idée que notre couple s'embrasse pour la première fois et on a nous même des frissons lorsqu'enfin ils passent à l'acte. Jennifer L. Armentrout ne nous fait pas juste assister à un amour naissant, elle nous le fait vivre! 

Quant aux scènes érotiques, elles sont restées assez softs. L'auteur a choisi de rester dans le sensuel plutôt que de tenter l'érotisme et je l'en remercie. Mais je trouve que malheureusement elles étaient un peu déplacées et en contradiction avec le personnage d'Avery. Aprés je pense que chacune aura son opinion là-dessus, au final tout dépend de la vision que chacune se fait des relations sexuelles. Personnellement j'ai trouvé cela un peu... rapide! 

Au final j'ai tout de même beaucoup apprécié cette lecture, accompagner Cam et Avery m'a autant fait rire que frémir et j'ai même eu une petit larmichette. Une romance haute en émotion qui saura faire chavirer les coeurs des plus grandes romantiques.

Armentrout qui m'a un peu dérangé et les scènes érotiques dont je ne suis pas trop fan qui ont un chouya gachés ma lecture. Mais dans l'ensemble, se fut une délicieuse lecture que je conseille à toutes les romantiques.

I've read a few of Jennifer Armentrouts books (okay just her covenant series) and I didn't really have a connection with those characters, or the story because of some issues I had with it. (see review for half-blood) So my expectations weren't high for this one either. I know I'm sorry. Keeping reading on though. :) I thought since I'm kind of in this NA mood I would try, and read something a little different from her. Can I just say..........OOOMMMGGG! I loved ,i>Wait for You. From the beginning when Avery ran into Cam before class to the very end. 

The story itself was really like any other girl meets boy, girl and boy become friends, boy and girl have problems they hide from each other. As I continued to read the story I felt connected to Avery. I felt like I knew some of the stuff she was going through. 

He turned, his eyes clear as glass. "There's a lot I don't know about you and I hope we fix that, I'm not going to push you, but you can't shut me out. Okay. You have to trust me."

This is exactly how my husband (but at the time boyfriend) sounded when we got together, and to be honest I think it's still kind of like this. I'm a very guarded person.

I love being able to identify with any of the characters in some way because it makes them feel more real to me. Like someone else knows what I've been through, or am going through. The relationship with Avery and Cam wasn't rushed at all either. You know sometimes when the boy and girl run into each other it's like BAM! makeout time, or you're the one I've been searching for. None of that happened. Oh, and no meeting inside a classroom. It was outside the door to the classroom. LOL. I had to throw that in. In all seriousness though they had a friendship before having anything else, and that's always nice to see when so many books just rush right into things. It was even nicer to see Avery constantly telling him no it wasn't gonna happen, and even with her rejecting him he still stayed around. what a guy. -swoon- Sometimes the best things in life you have to work for or wait for. Awww see what I did there "Wait for"

So while the storyline was pretty generic it was the love of the characters that really did it for me.

Don't tell Ryan, but Cam I want you to Be with Me. :) (Yes, it was another tie in for the second book)
