Lover Enshrined Black Dagger Brotherhood #6
Reviews

Honestly - it's cheesy and I rolled my eyes a lot. But it's frivolous and a light read. Pretty typical of the series.

Tolerable. Phury's story drug on and was lacking in areas. October 2021 Phury is still one of my least favourite of the Brothers. His story just doesn't pull me in. Cormia is just okay. Not a great mate for a Brother.

I love Phury on a superficial level. He sounds gorgeous. But I hate being inside his head. All of the Brothers have their struggles, but Phury’s battle with addiction and self-loathing is hard to stomach. And while I like Cormina fine, I don’t connect with her in any deep way. This book is all about the plot and the other characters for me. The central romance feels a lot less important than what’s going on in the periphery.

4.5* I really just can’t get enough of J.R. Wards world, they’re just so addicting and I love the brothers so much! While this one wasn’t my favorite, I fell more in love with the other characters in this one such as John Matthew, Blay, Qhuinn! I wasn’t that excited about the romance in this one between Phury and Cormia and I wish we got a little bit more from them. While I did feel bad for what Phury was going through, he did start to get a little frustrating towards the second half and I wanted him to treat Cormia a little bit better. That being said, my hardcore ship in this book was BLAY AND QHUINN!! OH MY GOD I SHIP THOSE TWO SO HARD!!! I loved their scenes together and the slowburn on Qhuinn’s side and THE ANGST! I can’t wait to watch those two continue to develop until they get their own HEA! I also enjoyed the bit we got of John Matthew and Xhex, I’m also dying for those two to get together!! AND TOHR OMG!! Two very big and exciting things happen in this book and I got so emotional!! Ahh!! Plus the ending was so sweet and left me with a huge smile on my face! I’m so happy with the direction the world is taking and I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next!!

OMG!OMG!OMG! Why on god's green earth did I leave this so long? I don't really have an answer to that question but I really wish I did. Cormia and Phury seriously did pull of my heart strings. Cormia was so innocent and brave, she kept me captivated by the way she was willing to sacrifice things for her race and the whole Chosen tradition. Phury was also really lost in his own troubles. He has lost all of his self-worth over the guilt he feels about his brother and parents. He numbs himself with drugs to take away any and all of the guilt he feels. I just LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them as a couple. Also, I finally felt that I got into the whole lesser Vs vampire war. Some big moves were made and surprising moves were made.

Not as good as the previous five books but all in all I did enjoy Phurys and Cormia's story.

I really didn't care for Phury-despite liking him in previous books. However, I loved Cormia. She was the standout star in this one.

I am conflicted as to whether I should give this book a 4.5 or a 5. This book had plenty of action and plenty of drama but it didn't have enough romance. Phury broke my heart one too many time for it to be fully repaired. All along I knew he loved Cormia but it didn't matter if she didn't know. Their intimacy didn't occur to the end which is not her typical plot. I I think ward is trying to stay away from the love scenes and put more meat into the stories. Personally I like a good mixture of both. What I did love was Blay and Qhuinn. Oh dear, how I would like to go ahead and skip all of the upcoming books just to get to theirs. They give me absolute life. That PT room scene. Qhuinn's vow. ❤❤. Lets see how many books I can plow through to get their. Along the way I will have to read Xhex and John's book which I will be delighted to do. Finally lets shed some light on these two. The Ying to his Yang is finally seeing the potential. They will be great I'm sure. I wonder if Darius ever paid attention to Xhex when he was Darius. Now about Lash and this omega business. This book was the first time I didn't want to skip so many lesser scenes. Typically I bypass a lot of those pages because they do not excite me but lash has added a new twist. Although I hate him he adds drama to the storyline and how could pass up drama. At the end of the day he has to be killed though. J.R. Ward do not steer me wrong here. Please don't not let my boys suffer at the hands of lash. I am very proud of the scribe virgin in this book. She is transforming really nicely and I'm hoping it works out well. Although I feel like Payne is going to cause trouble. Lastly, Tor is back or is he? Lets see how his goes. His book will be interesting. I can't handle him moping around for the next three books waiting for his turn though. That just won't do.

15 year old me must have been on sumn when she gave this book 5 stars. listen if i'd go for the nostalgia aspect, i'd five-star this in a heartbeat but i can't do that. was this bad? no, but phury and cormia's story was boring af compared to the dozen of side storylines present in this book and god this is where the qhuay feels started, i didn't remember this is where it all starteeeed. so much shit went down in this book that i'd forgotten oof

This book was the slowest in the series for me so far. I just didn't enjoy it as much as I had the others, and I wasn't too thrilled for the paring of Phury and Cormia. I found Cormia rather bland, and because of that I almost put the book down. However, Phury's intense struggle in this book, is what kept me going. If not for his character, I most likely wouldn't have finished the book as quickly as I did. His inner darkness really shows in this one, and you really get to know him on a much more personal level. I LOVED his scenes! If you find yourself losing interest, like I was, trust me and keep reading! It's worth it in the end!!
