Judith Rothschild An Artist's Search
Rothschild sought her imagery in the complex interaction between feelings, things, and ideas, and her late style was built on the unlikely combination of the sensual richness of Matisse's late cutouts and the geometric austerity of Mondrian. This led to the relief-painting technique that she employed for the last twenty years of her life, making it possible for her to create some of her most original and powerful works.
