Jesus the Christ
‘Jesus the Christ’—A Study of the Messiah and His Mission According to the Holy Scriptures Both Ancient and Modern’ is a 1915 book by James E. Talmage. It is a rich and insightful overview of the Christian belief in Jesus, his life, his teaching and the meaning of Jesus today. James E. Talmage was one of the Twelve Apostles of the Mormon Church and he wrote this voluminous work about Jesus and the Bible in the early 20th century. The book is a doctrinal study on the life and ministry of Jesus Christ and is widely appreciated by members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The book consists of 42 chapters, each focusing on important aspects of the life and mission of Jesus as the Messiah. A characteristic feature of the work is the guidance afforded by modern scriptures and the explication of the Holy Writ of olden times in the light of present day revelation, which, as a powerful and well directed beam, illuminates many dark passages of ancient construction.
