Reviews

The book itself isn't bad, I'm just not a fan of the character Michael Bennett. I'm definitely more of an Alex Cross type of girl. Overall though, this book was gripping and had a great story line. I could see the struggle between balancing his family life and his work life, which usually ends up with the work life taking over. But in the end, a hero is there and it ended much like I thought it would.

Oh the drama! This book read much faster than the first book of this series. "A calculating killer who calls himself The Teacher is taking on New York City, killing the powerful and the arrogant. His message is clear: remember your manners or suffer the consequences! For some, it seems that the rich are finally getting what they deserve. For New York's elite, it is a call to terror. Only one man can tackle such a high-profile case: Detective Mike Bennett. As time ticks down and his children fall ill, he has only hours to save New York from the greatest disaster in its history." Poor Michael Bennett - life goes on, even if all your kids have the flu. Once again, a crazy-out there plot, but just enough believable to keep me reading. The book started off hum-drum but trying to figure out the "why" behind it all left me hanging and in the end there was a plot twist I was not expecting. The Bennett family's flu epidemic had me laughing and crying all at the same time. This book was in danger of a 2-star because of the far-fetched ending and I for sure thought "he can't possibly jump the shark on the 2nd book of a series" but he went there. I continue with a 3-star rating because despite all the craziness I desperately want to get to book 3 in the series. My Ratings: 5*****I loved this book, consider it an all time favorite 4**** Thoroughly enjoyed the book and will recommend it 3*** I liked it well enough, 2** Brain Candy - It was okay. Writing mediocre, will keep/re-read if part of a series 1* didn't like/possibly not finished. (less)
