good book, intriguing storyline!

DNF at 52% (Chapter 52). I don't even know what to say...This doesn't happen to me often but here we are. James Patterson is a favourite of mine but this book just.....sigh.

I literally have no actual valid excuse for having read this trashy sci-fi piece of crap, but, in my defense, I've recently been to a zoo and felt like reading some apocalyptic wild animal thing. If I were to rant about this, it would never end. I'm just gonna say that Oz was the most annoying, alpha male, cliche and over-dominant character I've read about recently and that he was irritating to no end. The one female character was there as a trophy wife and everyone else was merely forgettable to say the least. The resolution of the problem seemed to be way too obvious for it to have taken several years to find out, there was a random five year jump in the middle of the book that was definitely unnecessary and the writing style was...nonexistent. The only good point was that it does touch on the subject of how humanity is growing apart from nature and how big of a problem that could be. Of course, that point was ruined by literally everything else, so I might even lower my rating to 1 star. Had it not been for the audiobook, I would not have finished it.

After seeing the previews to the upcoming television show based on this book, I decided to read the book first. I'm glad I did. I really liked this book! I see that it has gotten quite a few bad reviews, but I whipped right through it. Something has happened to the environment that has made animals go crazy and start attacking humans. You never know, it could happen.

Better than the series...

I did not like this. I did not like the storyline, I did not like the characters, I did not like how all the 'scientific' information in this story felt like it was copied from a wikipedia article, I did not appreciate how James Patterson writes women, especially female scientists, I did not like his use of the r-word. I do not recommend
