After her divorce is final, Harper and her friend, Tara, go out to a bar in search of a one-night-stand.  Harper succeeds with Ryan, but instead of staying with him in the morning, she sneaks out, thinking she will never see him again. When she discovers that she is pregnant, she knows she must tell Ryan but doesn't know his last name.  Even more complications arise when Harper finds out that Ryan is a professional swimmer and his new coach is her father.

As with most novellas, Secret Plunge is too short to provide adequate character development or complicated story beats, leaving the reader feeling a bit cheated at the end.  The biggest disappointment is that this book advertises itself as the first in a sports romance series that takes place in the world of swimming, and yet there is almost no mention of swimming in the book.  The writing is fairly unremarkable for a novel of this length and does include the trope of surprise pregnancy which is not one of my favorites.  Overall, Secret Plunge is an average read that proves to be more than a disappointment and makes me question whether I want to continue with this series.

Secret Plunge is the first book in Jasmin Miller’s new sports romance series. The series follows Olympic swimmers. This was a sweet romance, which I flew through. 

Harper is having the worst year. She doesn’t expect much for her News Year’s Plans after her friend drags her out until she meets Ryan. The pair hit it off right away after spending the night together. Weeks later she discovers she's pregnant. To add to her string of bad luck, her dad is her baby-daddy’s swimming coach. 

This is an age-gap romance. I love watching Ryan and Harper's romance bloom as they got to know each other.The balance between the steamy scenes and the sweet, humorous scenes is perfect. ⁠
