I got this book for free on Kindle. Since I started hearing about Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me I felt it was the same story and for some reason I thought Shatter Me would be more of worth a read. Until I ran out of books to read on vacation and started it and let me tell you, I could just not stop, I told myself to read to 30%, 50%...2/3 of it and then I finished it. Now I felt a bit freaked out in the second half and since it was about midnight and I was in a thunderstorm ridden vacation home, I finished just to sleep better. But this book is amazing. It's the first book I've read by Ms Armentrout and besides the story I definitely fell in love with the way she writes.

The idea of "Cursed" was great - it reminded me of X-men (which I absolutely love) so that was, what really got me. I didn't like the main character tbh - she was a little whiney... The other characters weren't that deep either, I just couldn't really bring me to like even one of them. Also the end was too rushed and the plot-twist... Really easy to guess ; I knew it since the first chapter or some (maybe I'm just a good detective 😂 but still). At all an easy read, but nothing special.

You can also read this review here. So.. I had high hopes for Cursed since it's written by the awesome JLA. But nope, the Lux series is still waaaay better. Ember McWilliams had died in an accident and was brought back by her sister, Olivia. Now she can kill things with just a touch. Everything dies. It was like she was Death. Now she has a no-touch policy with all living things. Then Hayden Cromwell showed up and said she had a gift. He could help her, but she had to trust his father. I thought Cursed was okay.. not bad, but not amazing either. Ember can't touch anything and I guess that sucks. She keep thinking she's a monster and that she has a curse. But Hayden seems to think otherwise and tries to help her. In this book, she goes through a bunch of crazy stuff. She was trying to adjust to her new life all the while being targeted. Someone wants to kill her. And she will find out who. The killer's identity didn't really surprise me much. I'd been suspecting two people and one of them was him/her (can't tell you who, can I?). Weird psychopath *shivers* The plot was really good. It kept me interested and wanting to know more all throughout the book. I always kept thinking that she would control her gift/curse one day and find out who wants to kill her. And she did :) Yay to accomplishments! Overall, this is a great book if you're into the whole killer-touch thing. Want some action? Definitely pick this one up!

DNF S. 219 - suche nach über der Hälfte des Buches immer noch den Plot... leider totlangweilig 😔

This book was not super unique and i felt i read it before. The plot was not well crafted and had many loose ends. But i did like the world and the characters.

Oh God, I should stop reading such books... with all the teen pseudo porn, the angst... Blagh. Have to move on

Well another great book by Jennifer Armentrout. Not as good as the Lux and Covenant series but a good stand-alone. Two years ago in a car crash Ember died but her little sister resurrected her turns out Olivia (little sis)can bring living things back from the dead. That left Ember also with a gift... a killer touch. She suffers because of it, she can touch no one and also her mom thinks she's dead. Well she ends up at a place with her little sister where there are kids like them and there's this boy Hayden. But how can they ever be together if everything she touches dies? and also there's someone after Ember, but why? The book has it all as every JLA books, there's romance, thriller, mystery, drama. The only thing that kind of threw me off at some point in the book was Ember's attitude. I mean I get the circumstances are not ideal and I would have probably acted the same way but still she was very stubborn and it showed a tad too much which frustrated me a bit. Ok Hayden <3 he is amazing. He is also gifted and has been into Ember since the beggining, he doesn't fear Ember and he doesn't care she was in accident that left some scars. He's really sweet and cares for Ember. But overall the book is really good a really nice read.
