The Night She Fell
Reviews

Thank you to Jennifer Soucy for providing me with a copy of The Night She Fell in exchange for an honest review! The Night She Fell is my first dance with the adult paranormal romance genre; typically, all of my experiences in that realm rests in the hands of Twilight and other popular series for Young Adults. Jennifer Soucy’s novel, although brutal in content at times, was a breath of fresh air. It was a fun, simple read & who doesn’t love their books laced with magic? Speaking of lacing with magic, I am a huge sucker for books that have a food element. Coralena works at her mother’s restaurant (where food is literally laced with magic), while her love interest, Hayden, owns a restaurant. This may be due to my experience working in a kitchen and the fact that I absolutely love cooking, but if a book includes a kitchen setting, it’s going to automatically win a special place in my heart. Another thing that wins a special place in my horror-filled heart are books with cults. Soucy is absolutely winning here. Cults are terrifying, hate to see them but also love to.. see them? In the fictional sense that is. With what I assume is a common element in this genre, there is a lot of sexy time & I know I have pals who love steam in their books. Jennifer Soucy does not slack in the romance & sex scenes (plus the sexual tension in between the sex scenes? Yes, please.) If you’re wanting some of the popular tropes (hate-to-love, especially), this is definitely a book worth checking out. My main complaint about The Night She Fell is that I do find that some portions dragged, especially when Cori reaches a particular situation. However, it still held me enough to wonder where Cori will end up in future books. The Night She Fell is definitely a solid start to a very intriguing series!
