reading this as an adult somehow didn’t feel very different from when I was 10 and picked it up at the school library. it made me long for a time when my biggest concern regarding this book was whether snape would occur in one of my nightmares rather than the transphobia promoted by its author.

There isn't much else to say, as people have been saying the same things for years.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is my ultimate comfort read; I adored every second. It's one of those books I'll revisit for many years and my go-to book for getting out of a reading slump.

I have lost count of how many times I've read the first four Potter books (I've read all of them several times but the first four has something special.) This time was sparked by watching Fantastic Beasts at the cinema and wanting to read something that in no way could end up being research for my Master's Thesis. I needed something that I could just breeze through. Reading it feels like being wrapped up in the most comfortable and warm blanket. Like going home. It never ceases to amaze me that this is a debut novel.

Read this for the first time since I was probably around 10 years old, and it felt like the very first time. 

The Wizarding World in Harry's eyes is beyond enchanting. There is so much life, so much history, so many little otherwise insignificant little details that just make this world all the more tangible. Choosing to read the Minalima edition of this book adds to this immersiveness and pairs so well with the playfulness and quirk of this world and everything in it. 

I adore Harry and his story. He's so used to being on the outside, being left alone, being unloved. In the wizarding world, the love he receives is overwhelming, the love the friends he made has for him is unfathomable. The kindness and bravery displayed in helping others he witnesses getting bullied is adorably heroic. 

I'm excited to revisit the rest of this series :D

It is embarrassing how long its been since I last read this book. As I've heard great things about the audio version of this book I decided to try it out & I must admit I am pleasantly surprise with how much I loved it.

Jim Dale is the perfect reader & J.K. Rowling's writing comes magically to life with his narration. 

If reading Harry Potter for the first time is amazing, it is much better to reread them knowing what's going to happen in the future & how J. K Rowling foreshadows so many things. 

If possible my love for this series has grown & I recommend for all Harry Potter fans to listen to this books as well as read them.

(2.75/5) me gustó el regusto inocente que tiene toda la historia en general. el libro fue divertido de leer, y está escrito de una forma muy sencilla y bonita, pero al mismo tiempo esperaba algo que me emocionara un poco más, que me dejara al borde de la silla, y justificara una puntuación más alta.

Centaurs got no chill. Also: the amor ex machina plot device would've been so much cooler if Harry could spout righteous fire from his wand made from hot, holy love.
