Reviews

I truly struggled reading this book, I tried to keep going but this book failed to keep my attention. Maybe down the track I may try and read another of his novels and try again.

Jo Nesbo is the master of “Where the hell is this book going?” This story is second only to “The Snowman” as his best for me. It’s a story about someone luring the lead policeman to the scene of an unsolved murder, then killing the policeman. The first “Where the....” moment is, “Where’s Harry? And why is being talked about in hushed tones like he’s dead?” Well, he’s not, he just makes a late entrance. What makes this story different than Nesbo’s others is that instead of having to piece together clues to get a hint at any suspects, it quickly is determined that from the extensive knowledge of the cases to set up the murders, the killer has to be related to the police department. So, if you’ve read the series, you know most of the suspects already. Which makes you jump to your own conclusions from suspect to suspect every few pages. Brilliant!

2020 - still stands 2019 - Oh my god, that was a wild ride... this book I think is my favourite of the series. And this ending!.. ugh. waiting to read the next book.
