Encontrei este livro num dia de novembro, com a memória de “Sangue na Neve” ainda muito presente – o primeiro título que li deste autor e do qual gostei particularmente. 

Apesar de ter começado precisamente pelo último livro da série Harry Hole e das frequentes referências a livros anteriores, não foi difícil encontrar o fio condutor das tramas individuais. Devo, no entanto, dizer que me “A Faca” me suscitou curiosidade e interesse para ler os números por ordem e melhor compreender o espaço psicológico das personagens. 

A meio do livro, a pausa no plano principal da ação e a sensação de arraste da história acabam por se traduzir num desfecho que não considerei numa fase inicial de ilações.

This is a long meandering book which had perhaps far too many threads going on in parallel. The main story itself lacked the usual polish that you get to see from Nesbo. I was close to DNF-ing at least three times, during the long one year i took to finish this book (because of multiple reasons) - this has never happened to me with Nesbo.

i’ve chewed the insides of my cheeks and lips completely while reading this one. one would say it’s “too much information”, i would say it’s the most real description of the reading process. and it says a lot about the thriller. well, or about my anxiety.

Honestly, I have no words. I'm so angry with Jo Nesbo. It's like he doesn't believe in anything good, nothing is sacred, and the goal for him is to just twist your heart and rip it out... 
I was looking for my jaw on the floor for hours after THAT reveal, and I have to admit, the last part with Finne was morbidly satisfying.
Yet I'm not sure I can trust Nesbo, I don't feel like I'm okay with being treated by an author like that.
