The Black Phone [Movie Tie-In] Stories
Reviews

read this immediately after seeing the film (excellent) and my biggest takeaway is that kids in the 70s fought like the sopranos

This book was originally published as 20th Century Ghosts but was renamed after the upcoming movie based on one of the stories within it. I don’t usually like to read books of short stories, but seeing as I haven’t read anything by this author I haven’t liked, I made an exception. There were maybe two stories in this book that didn’t have me saying “what the actual f@*k?!” after I finished them, but in a good way. This book is a total mind f*ck. It’s scary, twisted, and should probably be read in the middle of the day with all the lights on for good measure. Joe Hill has proven that he is the Prince of Horror to his fathers King (see what I did there?). If you’re looking for something with a good creep factor to read, then this is it.
