El gallo de oro

El gallo de oro was considered both a "novel" and a "story" by Rulfo himself. The first news of the work appeared in the press in October of 1956, in the context of a motion picture production. In January of 1959 a typescript made from Rulfo's manuscript was registered in the copyright office.
