Letty has nothing left but one friend and her sweet, well-trained horse. Sir Michael is taking the horse.Sir Michael Grantley has come back from the wars on the Continent missing half a leg, and the father who died while he was gone. He must figure out how to be baronet of Roseford, and he must begin by learning to ride again.Letty has no reason to go home again. Ever. Now that she and her groomsman Anthony have delivered Sir Michael's horse, she has nowhere left to go. Until she can find some appropriate employment, it would be most efficient to stay right where she is and help the baronet learn to ride again. And Letty loves to be efficient.Sir Michael was raised to be a gentleman. In truth, he is gruff, short-tempered, and plans to wait as long as his father did to find a calm, elegant lady like his mother. Letty is helping him ride again, but she's doing nothing to help him protect his reputation, or hers. She insists on managing his horse, his manor, and finally his heart, and she is not like a lady at all.
