           Except for the monster that Emma sees when trying to return the bunny — the inciting incident if you will — the anime takes its time establishing the nature of the world in which the children are being raised. The pacing here is faster and the glimpses behind the metaphorical curtain come sooner and more frequently. While I wasn't sure I'd enjoy the manga (having felt only lukewarm about the anime, even before the weird second season), I did. Some of the entertainment is in how the translator used different German tenses to render personalities.

Of course the youngest of the children speak simplistic German. Mama speaks in a doting, straightforward, almost baby talk way until she's quietly letting the three geniuses know she's on to them. Meanwhile, Ray, Norman, and Emma each have their favorite tenses. Ray tends to be declarative: he's all action. Norman goes for longwinded, complex sentences that are at the advanced end of German grammar. Emma tends to be short and to the point but will fall into the subjunctive when she's in denial about the situation. She also, more than the boys, falls into a childish way of speaking. Some of that though is reflected in her time caring for the younger children.

The Promised Neverland 2 by Kaiu Shirai, Posuka Demizu (Illustrator), and Luise Steggewentz (Translator) (2017) is primarily an extended planning and information gathering session. Norman, Ray and Emma know they need to escape and take as many of the other children with them as possible. Before they can do that, they need to know how Mama and Sister Krone are able to track them. They also need to know every secret about the house they can find out.

One of the best manga I have ever read. I first fell in love with the show after season 1 and couldn't wait to learn what happened next and decided to read the manga. In one sitting....

I find myself coming back to it every month or so and rereading it and loving it all over again. I love the main characters (and love that our main lead is a girl!!). It's creative, thrilling, full of heart and action packed.  My only complaint is that I wish it could have been longer so that I had more to read. Would recommend!!!

there are still things that has to be improved but I'll give the two worlds and factory farming twists a big praise. although the dialogues are still a bit repetitive and highly centered only to 2-3 characters despite having a huge family at their backs, the pacing is so far the most sustainable so far.

the blind adventures begins with the bloodsucker trees that dries up live animals as their first encounter in the wild, escaped through the help of mr. minerva's guidebook. it's all good but I wish the other kids had the time to shine more than just the premium ones lol. the ending was fairly good so I'm still giving it a shot

+ solo moments & long dialogues contemplating about the same matters during the last 4 vols were enough, putting way too much in this one esp in the beginning was a bit of a stretch and repetitive.

I want to know more about the other children, they're mostly only on the background. the outside world as well, at least some bits of puzzle pieces to keep my interest going.

so far, I liked the pacing of this one the most and how it has been carried out. more revelations and really exciting, can't wait to see what's about to happen next

I want to know more about the other children, they're mostly only on the background. the outside world as well, at least some bits of puzzle pieces to keep my interest going. 

something about the execution of the plot is off... maybe it's the overdone dialogues. or the random demon sketches that appears out of the blue (+ I still don't like how they were designed. they're not scary at all, just weird and gigantic). sister krone's exaggerated representation also made me so uncomfortable. I think they've done it to match the character's eerie aura but, such a bad idea man

really like the storyline of this one so I decided to start the manga again from the start though I've already seen the first season of the anime. apparently, the 'kids' who got exposed to the 'real situation' could also act well. that was the only downside. I wish there was more time for the two to hesitate or panic or anything more realistic reaction? of 11 years olds?

okay WOAH! I jumped into this series with literally no idea what it was about. I was about to put it aside thinking it was too cute and boring for me, but boy was i so wrong… as soon as I saw the one kid, I was so shocked and had to take a minute but I was immediately invested now. I have to know more and how everything ends so I’m definitely going to be binging this series. I love that it’s a twisted series, very different than the cute covers!
