Cries of a Wounded Soul

Cries of a Wounded Soul

Karen Frazier2007
Throughout her life, Helen felt unwanted, unloved, and unlovable. She saw herself as being rejected by her immediate family. Soon, she came to believe the only way she would ever be accepted was to excel in school, in work, and in life in generalain short, to do everything better than anyone else. As a teenager and young adult, her carefully laid plans began to disintegrate. She became severely depressed, became sexually promiscuous, developed anorexia and bulimia, and began abusing alcohol, nearly destroying herself in the process. This is a story of a wounded soul and how one woman fought not only to survive, but to emerge victorious and free. It is a story of hope and recovery, and of the strength and power of the human spirit.
