This wasn't my favorite Katee Robert story, but I did enjoy it! I felt like the plot could have either been tightened up or extended just a wee bit. It was at a strange inbetween for me. The characters though? Fantastic. I loved Medusa and Calypso!! I liked the insta-love. I loved the wlw scene. Do I recommend reading this? 100%. Was it my favorite? Not so much. :)

Since this is a novella I expected some kind of insta love situation but this was too much. Medusa and Calypso are immediately intrigued by one another, that I can understand. But then they're in love and willing to risk it all for one another, not so much. I don't get what they like about each other. Medusa is shockingly dumb for an assassin and Calypso doesn't have much going on for her either. The smut was fine and if this was just the start of their relationship this might've worked for me.

Another great read by Katee Robert. I also enjoyed Hades' cameo in it. It would be nice to see Medusa and Calypso in future Dark Olympus books to see how they've progressed since this story predates Neon Gods, etc.

it was cute ! idk i don’t really have anything else to say but i love sapphics

This is basically everything I expected it to be. Considering it's a very short book, the events happen in a quite fast pace and I can't say I'm mad about it, but it's also one of the reasons I can't score this higher. However, and even though this was focused on Medusa dn Calypso, (view spoiler)[it was so fun to see Hades for a small bit. And a Hades before Persephone!!! It makes me want to reread Neon Gods. (hide spoiler)] Still, an enjoyable read.

I went into this novella because the short story I read in Nightingale, a book of short stories that are all basically ads for the author's other books. The short story was about Hades and Persephone after everything happened in Neon Gods, and although I loved the short story, it did spoil the book a lot for me. I still plan to go back and read it, but as I was working on the project that I have planned for the anthology, I found out that Robert's Dark Olympus series just released a novella! This novella takes place before the first book, and it follows Medusa and Calypso. Since I have not read Neon Gods, I don't know how much this story plays into that one yet. We don't see Hades or Persphone in this short story. Instead, it focuses on how Medusa and Calypso meet and how they try to be together. I loved it. The novella is free right now on Robert's website.

🌶🌶.5/5 I’ve been considering jumping into Katee Robert’s vast catalogue for quite a while now, since Neon Gods was everywhere for a while. Stone Heart is a great way to dip your toe into the water if you, like me, have not yet made the plunge into the full length books of the Dark Olympus series. It is a novella set before the events of the first book, so it’s spoiler free, as far as I know. With a bit of insta love, and the flair of enemies to lovers, though that’s not exactly the right description for Medusa and Calypso, this sapphic novella is a quick sprint through Robert’s Olympus. You meet characters who definitely show up in the later books very briefly, you get some action and some spice, you get just a taste of what each side of the River Styx is like, then you’re done. A very fun, spicy but not TOO spicy story that you can easily read in one sitting.
