One star for the pretty illustrations, other than that, it's just a cash grab because of the beloved film. Not that it would be easy to make it interesting or fun to read, because it's not, especially in a couple of pages, but as it is, this is the movie in a storybook for children, you better just show the movie to your kids instead of reading this..

The illustrations are so charming and really convey how much the illustrator adores this film. The writing is also clever and not too cute, and my almost 4-year old adores this. However, my huge beef is that never once is the reader told what the heck Kevin's family is doing that whole time he is home alone. The entire struggle of mom to get the heck home is lost, and that is kind of scary.
