First, let me express my sincerest thanks to the amazing Ann Denton for once again sending me a copy of one of her amazing books in exchange for an honest review! All thoughts and opinions expressed below are entirely my own. WHERE DO I EVEN BEGIN?! Once again Ann Denton’s super-compelling writing style and unique take on so many of my favorite dark fantasy romance elements proved to be such a wild ride! Her Feral Princess omegaverse series was one of my absolute favorites of 2021, so I was beyond excited to dive into Tangled Crowns this year! Although I haven’t read much medium burn romance, y’all know I am a huge fan of reverse harem! Ultimately, this series has proven to be precisely my cup of tea! If, like me, you’re obsessed with Raven Kennedy’s dark fantasy+romantic comedy mashup The Heart Hassle Series, READ THESE BOOKS IMMEDIATELY. Especially if you love the marriage of convenience and/or forced proximity tropes! I was, of course, immediately obsessed with the premise: a fantasy world teeming with magical beings of all sorts, but what makes this one so interesting is that kingdoms/households are each built around a matriarchal system due to a lack of male babies being born. Thus, queen-to-be Bloss Hale has FOUR husbands, but when we meet her, she has stolen away from the castle for four whole years, refusing to accept her crown as well as her husbands, for mysterious reasons she is unable to reveal…She’s also learned of a secret plot to harm her beloved sister Avia, her best friend she will die protecting. Slowly but surely, and over the course of tons of political court intrigue, Bloss must atone for abandoning her husbands while also proving her love and loyalty. At the same time, her husbands must also win her heart and remind her of her true purpose as future queen. I particularly loved the ending as they all came together to fight together to protect their realm. It was amazing how distinguishable each husband is from one another. My first favorite was Quinn, but now as I’m binging book two, I honestly cannot pick favorites, I love them all so freaking much!! I adored Avia and Bloss’ relationship as well, and so excited to know that the series focus shifts to Avia in the later books–can’t wait to dive into those soon! In short, I cannot recommend this series enough: fast-paced, hilarious, smutty, and packed with wonderful characters. You won’t be able to stop once you start, and that ending?! Trust me, you need this series in your life.

This was my first time reading a reverse harem! I have to say I was a bit apprehensive when I picked it up since it's not my usual type of read, but wow, Ann Denton lured me and captivated my attention with this story. Bloss is seriously a gem, I love her character, she is witty and filled with so much determination. I thought it wouldnt be possible to include romance in this type of reads but I was wrong! Not only did I get romance, but I got it from four knights. Bloss is a boss for sure, dealing with four men that love her. I loved the slow burn connection between them, that need and want just makes you root for them all. So many choices! I loved how although there are 4 husbands in the story, they all have to prove their love for Bloss. Yes, there were spicy scenes of course but it was better than I expected! The magic was definitely something that pulled me, I loved how the author put together that aspect. And dont get me started with the world. In my mind. this place is glorious, from castles to gardens to anything aesthetically pleasing. I am looking forward to book 2 for sure! huge thanks to the author for sending this beautiful book my way.

I enjoyed this book so much! In so many positive ways, it reminded me of my favorite RH, the Heart Hassle series by Raven Kennedy, and that is one of the reasons I loved this so much! If you are expecting hot and heavy from the get go, you would be mistaken. This book is deliciously slow burning. Bloss is the crowned princess of her country, but for four years she has been on the run. In the moment, it had been her only option, but when one of her husband's drags her back to the castle after she over heard a plot to kidnap her sister, Bloss starts to question if running away was actually the right thing to do. Not only is her sister and mother upset about her leaving, she has four angry husbands who want nothing to do with Bloss. What is worst, Bloss can't even communicate why she left in the first place, thanks to her mother's magic keeping her silent. All Bloss can do is earn her husbands love again and hope they began to trust her again. Especially since they have to work together in order to keep Bloss's younger sister safe. Let me talk to you about these wonderful men! Ryan, Declan, Connor, and Quinn are EVERYTHING! Denton does an amazing job at making four beautiful men that are so vastly different and offer Bloss different things, but compliment one another perfectly. I love how there is no real jealousy between any of them and I THINK i detected some crushing going on between her husbands too. Maybe that is me just hoping! I am so excited to continue on with this series, especially seeing how it ended! I must know more!

I’ve been ruined. This is my first try with Reverse Harem, and I wasn’t ready for the emotional and physical toll loving four guys at once would have on me. I should have expected this. Finding one book boyfriend is what it is, but four at the same time? Overwhelming in the best way possible! I loved this book for its plot and its interesting worldbuilding. Let’s start with the magic, which I found truly fascinating. There’s a sort of checks and balances for its use. For example, one of the characters can heal with his touch, but he loses himself to a fit of rage afterwards, or another can look into people’s minds at the cost of his voice. Then of course, there’s the society’s matriarchal structure which sees a woman in the highest position of power, aka the queen, but also polyamorous families where there’s one wife for multiple husbands. I won’t enter into the details as to why this is. You need to read it for yourselves! The characters deserve their own paragraph, because this cast was wonderful! I loved the main character, Bloss. I loved the knights (Connor, Quinn, Declan and Ryan), who are beautiful individually and as a unit. I loved Princess Avia, Bloss’s sister. I loved the interactions between each and every one of them! The sisterly bond was so cute, and the romance…*squeals* The author managed to build Bloss’s relationship with each one of her knights, creating a unique bond with them individually, but she also showed how close the four men are with one another. Together, the group is harmonious, complementing each other well. It’s beautiful! I was intrigued from page one and I devoured this book in three days, which is a feat for me since it usually takes me a week or ten days to finish a book. That’s how good this was! At the time of writing this review, I’m already 20% into the second book. I can’t get enough! Thank you to the author for gifting me a copy. Opinions are my own.

KNIGHTFALL was my first experience reading a Reverse Harem (or any type of harem, really), and I really think it’s a great place to start for a newbie to the genre like me! The story follows Bloss, a princess with a dangerous gift that may as well be a death sentence to those around her. In order to protect them, Bloss escapes the castle on the eve of her marriage with her four knights, and has been on the run for years when she discovers a threat against her younger sister. Desperate to protect her, Bloss returns to the castle—even if it means facing the disappointment not only of her mother and sister, but of the four men she abandoned. Will Bloss be able to regain the trust of her knights? And will she be able to save her sister from those who wish her harm? Well, you’ll have to read the book to find out! The world of Knightfall felt like a homecoming for me. Royals, a matriarchal society, magic, faeries, dragons, djinn, mages…it had it all! I very much enjoyed the world-building and the dangerous politics, but what really made the story stand out to me was the characters and the romance. Or should I say, romances? Usually, when a book has multiple romance options, I always choose a favorite. I was afraid that the same would happen with this one, and that I might not enjoy the harem dynamic because of it. However, I shouldn’t have worried. Not only did I love Bloss’s strong and sassy personality, but I also loved her four knights! Each of them had their own unique personality, and while one might have a preference based on personal tastes—my personal favorites were Declan and Quinn—it’s impossible not to love them all. The banter with each of them was super fun and at times very hot, and I had such a hard time putting this book down because all I wanted to do was read more and get to another scene. I really appreciated that the author didn’t lean into the smut quickly, but really took her time building not just Bloss’s relationship with the knights individually, but as a group. The harem worked so well because the boys were such great friends and an incredible unit. I could go on and on about how much I loved the little family dynamic, but I won’t! You’ll have to read the book and fall in love with them yourself. In short, I super recommend this book to lovers of romance, and if this is your first experience with reverse harem, it’s a great place to start!

This is the kind of book I might not have liked depending on my mood but for some reason all the stars aligned when I was reading it. The slang is annoying & don’t look too closely at the arms on the cover, but I had a great time and will be reading the next one for sure.
