Insect Literature

A quite challenging, but also enjoyable read. Most essays focus on one species of insects and how they are being depicted in Japanese poetry and folk tales.

Since most of the essays center around poems and their English translations, people not interested in poetry may have a hard time. I was delighted by a lot of the Japanese poems, but would have wished to read them in Japanese writing instead of transcription.
