I am very quickly falling in love with Terry Pratchett's sense of humor and writing. There were many times reading this book where I found myself snorting, giggling, or burst out laughing. I love that he takes familiar stories from folklore and fairytales and makes them just a little bit more modern and somehow even more nonsensical. 

I am so curious to keep reading more from the Discworld, and trying out some of the other stories not from the Witches plot, even though I adore Granny Weatherwax, Nanny Ogg, and Magrat

           Never thought a book about elves would help me understand quantum mechanics

A Novel of Discworld

I just never got hooked. 

And there were some fantastic lines. I laughed for a full minute about a remark about a carrot and oyster pie. Like, full on, couldn't believe I read that, laugh. 

But it was just a shade too silly. Too many different storylines for me. I think I would have had an easier time if a certain romance didn't get an entire side story, or if some of the complaining in the beginning was cut, or the aftermath of the climax was cut. It just seemed too long.

Still a great book, love the Witch saga, and I'm curious to see how the next book handles this.
