The Best of Friends

Lucinda Berry2022
"Best friends Lindsey, Kendra, and Dani endure every parent's nightmare when a tragic accident befalls their teenage boys, leaving one dead, another in a coma, and a third too traumatized to speak. Reeling from the worst night of their lives, the three mothers plunge into a desperate investigation of the bizarre incident. How could something so horrible happen in their wealthy Southern California suburb? They soon discover that the accident was just the beginning, and troubling discoveries lead to chilling questions: Do they really know their children? Do they even know each other? As more secrets surface, a fog of doubt and suspicion threatens to poison their families, their friendships, and the whole community. With the illusion of happiness and safety long gone, these women must now confront the hazards of heartbreak, the consequences of jealousy, and the dangers of living double lives."--

OMG…hang on to your hats you're in for a ride! This book made me an absolute wreak. So much tragedy, lies and secrets, my head was in a whirl. Three best friends and a tragic accident has created the ultimate test of friendship. Lindsey, Dani and Kendra have been best friends since diapers, but when a horrific accident between their three boys takes place, it will create the biggest challenge they have every faced. Every aspect of their life will change and everything they thought they knew about themselves; their children and their marriages will be tested. From the first page Lucinda Berry captures your attention, as you go back and forth between the three friends and how they cope with the havoc their boys have unleashed. It begs the question how you find answers and move forward when everyone you though you knew are lying. Find a comfy spot and settled in you are not going to want to put this book down!

I‘d give it 3,5 stars. The story itself is good but somehow I couldn‘t get lost in it and had to force myself to finish reading it. I still wanted to know the end of the story but it wasn‘t really one that captivated me.
