Oh boy, ignore if you are wanting to read this or love this. This duet is hard to review. You have to really really dig for a good plot in this book. It’s just so dramatic for no reason. The writing style is so weird as well. The concept is really interesting with a smiles to lovers plot that is fated mates that tried to fight that mate bond but overtakes them. But it just got lost in the shuffle of weird vernacular and lack of world building. There was also a massive amount of spelling and grammatical mistakes that I actually do wonder if it went through an in-depth editing process because a lot of them felt obvious like using “waste” instead of “waste.” This just wasn’t a series for me and actually don’t know if I would even be interesting in continuing because I haven’t enjoyed these books but I love Meagan Brandy so it’s been a struggle that luckily I don’t have to decide on yet.
