This is my first Maggie Shayne book and I will definitely read more. While it's clear that this is a self-published book (noticeable grammatical and spelling errors), the plot keeps you guessing until the end. Just when you think you have it figured out, another twist gets thrown in. Character development is well done with the two main characters but I find the rest of the players hard to relate to. This wouldn't be any big deal except there are quite a few places where the supporting characters are telling part of the story. The fact that I didn't really know much about those characters almost made me feel like those scenes were just fillers. I will say, the mystery of this story definitely earns it the four stars and makes up for the books minor downfalls.
