Not gonna lie, this book was hard to get into. For whatever reason, A Christmas Vow of Seduction was clearly not a book made for this reader! And that's okay! Not every book is for every reader. I really enjoy romance, yet Harlequin has always been hit or miss for me. It's a love-hate relationship, but I still end up being driven back and trying to fall in love with these books all over again. Unfortunately, this book didn't work well with me. I think a big part of it was due to my own personal stress and life getting in the way. I couldn't stay with this book long and kept putting it down over and over. This is not a hit against this book by any means. It's totally all on me. Maisey Yates is a good writer and I enjoyed her style! The story was interesting but didn't grab my attention. I couldn't quite put my finger on the setting and time frame. It was current due to porn videos being shared around of the Prince, but it also felt like it was in a whole other land due to the forced and arranged marriages. It was a strange mash-up of the British Royal family and other royals. I couldn't get into this relationship at all. It was very forced and suddenly they liked each other. I found the sex scenes to not be romantic at all, and I just couldn't believe them. It pulled me out of the story. Also, not much Christmas. I kind of expected more due to the title. Overall, not a book for me! I'm going to try to find some other Maisey Yates books of other series (I love a good cowboy romance...) to get a real feel for her writing. This book came at a bad time and doesn't get the attention it deserves from me. One out of five stars.
